Subodh Kumar Lodha loves his profession of landscaping. He has been taking landscaping projects all over Udaipur to enhance its beauty. He is the proprietor of Garden Corner and also owns a small nursery. His father was a botanist and that inspired him to choose landscaping as his profession. He did his graduation from Haryana in the field of commerce and then pursued a diploma in computer science. He started his career working as a computer programmer. He was supported by Arvind Singh Mewar, the custodian of the throne of the Mewar region, to pursue his passion for plantation as he was good at it.

After his graduation, Subodh used to provide his services at the City Palace at Udaipur. He helped complete landscaping for several palaces and hotels around the city and also outside of it like Umaid Bhavan, Lake Palace, Udai Vilas, and Trident.

Subodh says his profession is something that people do for money but he does it for his passion. He visited several nurseries around the globe to find the best plants and installations for the city of Udaipur so that he can provide the people with the best services. He started collecting unique and rare plants and trees and today, he owns one of the best collections in the city.

Subodh’s role model in life is his father. Whatever he is today, he owes it to his father and his family, which include his wife and his sons, who have also joined him in this business and help him every day.

Subodh’s firm works with soft landscaping of plants. His main aim remains to incorporate his client’s desired style into his work. He also supplies plants for hotels and other projects and helps with their presentation and arrangements.

Subodh feels landscaping is a very open industry, and anyone can join it. He trains many students from the agricultural field and guides them to set up their small nurseries. He has also helped spread awareness among people about this field. He also advises anyone who’s into landscaping to play good oriental music in the background to enjoy their work to fullest.

Subodh thinks experience is very important in his field of work because when he trains many students pursuing a B.Sc. he finds they often have less knowledge than him because of the lack of experience in the field.

If he can go back in time, Subodh would change nothing because he thinks what he is doing is both his dream as well his hobby.

Subodh spent his childhood in Jaipur. He recalls getting scolded for not concentrating on his studies in his childhood. He also remembers living in Haryana before coming to Udaipur.

In his free time, Subodh loves to explore new places and study new species of plants in the market.

Subodh believes that the pandemic has taught us how to maintain relationships, and he hopes people will continue to nurture them.
