A prosthodontist, Sonal is a professor at Pacific Dental College and a staunch supporter of consistency and sincerity in the field. She was born in Prayagraj, and both her mother and father are medical professionals. She faced difficulties at first, but her spouse stood by her and persuaded her parents to support her work.

Sonal Pamecha is a prosthodontist and a professor at Pacific Dental College.

Sonal completed her postgraduate studies in prosthodontics at Darshan Medical College. She likes motivating students and helping them with their personal and academic challenges. She chose dentistry because it is a respected profession and one can practice it anywhere in India.

Born in Prayagraj, Sonal hails from a family of doctors. Her father and mother were both doctors, as were some of her siblings. She initially had to face a few problems from her in-laws, who were mostly not supportive of a woman in the household working outside. However, her husband always supported her during this time and eventually convinced his parents that she was a strong, independent woman who deserved to work for society as a dentist, which is a respectable profession.

As for advice to the future generation of doctors, Sonal says that one should be consistent and sincere with their efforts because competition is rising manifold and it is getting more and more difficult to be a good and qualified doctor these days. One who is consistent and hardworking would survive in the competition, be it medical, engineering, or business. Communication skills are also mandatory, according to her.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, online teaching was the only alternative route for teaching left since physical classes were prohibited. From a professional standpoint, the pandemic had been challenging for the entire school's teachers, as she says. Cooperation and interaction were not always seamless.

Sonal believes that there is a notable difference between online and physical classes and students' attitudes toward both forms of teaching. Sonal was also living in constant fear of succumbing to the disease while fulfilling her duties as a doctor. However, Sonal was grateful that, in the end, she faced no danger despite risking her life for the same.

Sonal firmly believes that education is the basis on which experience is built. Without the basic knowledge imparted to us by education, experience on any subject cannot be built. She compares education to the foundation of a building. The stronger the foundation, the better one’s career will be. Common experiences in daily life teach us a lot of things about life. Success stories of great people teach us about the values we should inculcate.

Sonal says that people take dental problems very lightly, which then results in big problems and should be avoided.

On the topic of leadership, Sonal believes that a true leader must have the capability of leading everyone and simultaneously serving everyone in the team. They also have the daunting responsibility of building new leaders for society. One must lead by example and practice what one preaches.

If Sonal could go back in time, she would like to go back to the era when India was called the golden bird.

Sonal used to go to the gym before the pandemic. However, she still follows a daily routine involving fitness.
