Sneha’s passion for education and gender equality drove her towards social services. She aspires to help women seek higher education and pursue their dreams.

Sneha Harsh is a student at Harvard University. She is doing her graduation in Learning Design and Innovation Technology in Education.

Sneha belongs to Ranchi, Jharkhand.

Recalling her childhood, Sneha says that she used to go to the pond near their house and throw pebbles in it, which would create ripples. She compares those ripples with her dreams, which were getting bigger with time, and she wanted to learn and change the world. She completed her schooling in Ranchi. She was sure that she wanted to do something for society and the public. She remembers writing a postcard to the President about female foeticide when she joined a kids club. She also taught students at the school near her village.

Thereafter, she did her undergraduate at Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi. She was the president of a voluntary placement agency programme where she used to coordinate social sector work in her college. She was also selected by her college to study in Japan and also got a scholarship for it.

Talking about her challenges, Sneha says that when she came to Delhi, she had a huge cultural shock and was not able to even speak English properly. She lacked communication skills. However, she has learned everything as she continues her life's journey.

When asked about her role models, Sneha says that she never had one but is inspired by multiple people who came into her life.

Comparing education and experience, Sneha believes that even though one is receiving a top-notch education, experience always matters more. Learning by doing is more important than learning by education, she says.

If given a time machine, Sneha would like to travel to the time when she enjoyed throwing pebbles in the pond in her village and living a peaceful life away from her hectic schedule.

Sneha believes in the quote by Leonard Cohen, which says that "There is a crack in everything; that’s how life gets in."

To the young generation, Sneha advises them to dream big, and says that with hard work and determination, everything is possible.
