Sneha Bhatia is a teacher by profession who taught at a renowned school in the UAE for about twenty years before settling in Udaipur.

Sneha is currently settled in Udaipur. She studied at St. Mary’s Convent School, Ajmer. She did her bachelors from Sophia College in Ajmer itself.

Sneha shares that after her wedding, she moved to Mumbai with her husband and stayed there for about two and a half years. Then, the couple moved to the UAE and she taught at Our Own English High School in Sharjah for nearly twenty years.

Talking about hardships in her life, Sneha says that hailing from a small city like Ajmer and then moving to a fast-moving city like Mumbai was initially quite challenging for her. But, soon, she settled there and started working as a beautician from her home as she loved to groom people and had also done a beautician training course.

Meanwhile, her husband moved to the UAE for his job and she had to spend six months all by herself in Mumbai. Later, when she also moved to the UAE, there she couldn’t qualify for the job of a beautician which was a setback for her. But, not giving up, she thought of taking to the profession of teaching. She interviewed for a teaching job at an English medium school there and it was a piece of cake for her to get that job owing to her good education. After teaching for about three years at that school, she then applied to Our English High School, a renowned school in Sharjah, and luckily got a teaching job there and taught there for about twenty years.

Sneha says that she also had to struggle to juggle completing her teachers’ training course and taking care of her family responsibilities. Besides, she also had to take multiple attempts at obtaining a driving license in the UAE. Furthermore, she also had to face many challenges in her teaching profession. But, she never gave in and thus beat all her challenges head-on.

Sneha acknowledges that her mother always instilled in her the qualities like being disciplined, punctual, and organized in life. And she considers her mother, her role model.

Sneha thinks that both education and experience go hand in hand. She says at the onset of your career, you need to have your formal education done. And along the course of your career journey, your experience helps you a lot.

To aspiring teachers, Sneha advises them to always remain patient with their students. Besides, she advises them to complete a B.Ed. degree course as it will help them broaden their horizon as a teacher.

Even if she had a Time Machine and could go back in time, Sneha would still want to be a teacher as she thinks that a teacher is an awakener for her students.

Sneha advises parents that along with the efforts of teachers, their efforts are also equally needed to lay the foundation for their children in their initial years. Besides, she advises them never to force anything on their children as children’s emotional, psychomotor, and cognitive developments happen together and for that, they need to support their children emotionally.
