Sirisha faced many setbacks in her life, but she never gave up and kept going. Eventually she came out as a real estate agent and today she has made a good name for herself in the real estate industry.

Sirisha Duvvuri is the Founder and Managing Partner of Ask Properties, based in Visakhapatnam. She is also a member of Business Network International Organization.

Remembering her childhood, Sirisha says that as a kid, she was very obedient and honest. She  also had a lot of fun in her childhood. She dreamed of becoming a pilot, doctor or scientist after growing up so that people would recognize her by her name.

Sirisha belongs to Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. She studied in Dr Besant School there. She had always been the topper of her class. After scoring good in 12th std, her parents wanted her to pursue medicine.

In Sirisha’s obsession of becoming a doctor, she pulled all-nighters to prepare for her exams. But in no time, her mental health started deteriorating. On the advice of a psychiatrist, she was given sleeping pills to bring her to normal mental health. This sabotaged her preparation and she ended up losing her MBBS seat.  This made her think about what she should do next for her career.

After much deliberation, Sirisha did B.Pharma from Raghu College of Pharmacy, Dakamarri. Despite being the topper of the college, she was not satisfied with becoming a pharmacist, considering her big dreams. In her struggle to figure out the right path, she was advised by one of her seniors to do an MBA from any of the IIMs considering her leadership qualities and communication skills. Soon she enrolled herself at Times Management Coaching for CAT preparation. But things never worked in her favor as her father died suddenly with a debt of rupees fifteen lakh, which had become her responsibility to pay off. In such a state of mind, she could not study further. Moreover, she paid off all the debts by selling her personal assets. To run her household, she started working at a private school.

Sirisha got married soon and at the behest of her husband, she started giving bank exams against her wishes. One more day was added to her sad days that brought a turmoil in her personal life when she lost her baby soon after delivery. That left her devastated. In order to overcome that sorrow, she took her banking studies seriously and went to Nandyala for its preparation. Again her luck was not supportive as she missed the seat by just a fraction of marks. Then she quit everything and did her MBA in HR and Marketing from a college near her house. Thereafter, she started getting good opportunities to work in MNCs with great packages but due to domestic conditions, again she was pulled back. However, in order to start her professional journey, she took a Marketer job in a local digital marketing company in her hometown. Then she was poached into the real estate sector and after a year she started her own real estate company called ‘Ask Properties.’

Speaking about her role models, Sirisha says that she considers her father and her partner Avinash as her role models for supporting and backing her always.

According to Sirisha, to establish a career, education is necessary but experience would make you perfect. She believes that education supports you to do your work in a systematic way. She says that by putting together all your skill sets that you have developed through education, you can gain a lot of experience and reach your destination easily.

Regarding leadership, Sirisha opines that she does not believe in born leaders. She feels that leadership is a quality that a person acquires with his life experiences and time. She says that for her, it is her experience and strong determination that made her a leader.

If Sirisha was put in a Time Machine, she would go back to her 10th grade and change her decision of doing MBBS to Engineering and move ahead accordingly.

In her spare time, Sirisha enjoys going for long drives and listening to music. She also has a passion for hosting events and doing anchoring. Besides, she loves to read books, dance and chill out.
