Siddhartha Taya is the managing director of Hotel Siddhartha Inn in Udaipur.
Siddhartha was born and raised in Udaipur. He completed his schooling from Udaipur itself. Then he did a B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Chennai.
Siddhartha shares that after completing engineering, he worked with Accenture in Mumbai for about two years. He says working in a job never really fascinated him and he always wanted to do something of his own. He came back to Udaipur and started his own hotel with his father.
When asked about his role models, Siddhartha says that he considers Tom Cruise as his role model.
In his spare time, Siddhartha likes to do mountaineering and trekking. Besides, he likes to take a dive into ponds. Furthemore, he also likes to read books and watch movies.
Reviewing his COVID experience, Siddhartha says that the pandemic times were quite challenging for him. He says it had just been six months since the inception of his hotel when the pandemic hit it. He had to struggle to pay for his staff’s salaries as his hotel had to be kept shut in light of the pandemic. However, he acknowledges that his hotel staff stood rock-solid by him during the pandemic, and thus he could beat the challenges that the pandemic threw at him. Besides, he says that he learned Karate and did a few courses online. He also read books in his free time during the pandemic.
Siddhartha advises people that there’s no right age to pursue your dreams and you should never kill your dreams. Even when you are not able to live up to your dreams, you should not give up on them and pursue them at a later time whenever you get a chance.
His Life Mantra is to never complain about anything and face every challenge in life head-on as it comes.
