Besides being the co-founder of TheBabyBo, Siddhi is an animal lover and a good samaritan who enjoys contributing her bit to the welfare of society.

Siddhi Samel is the co-founder and COO at TheBabyBo, a marketplace for sustainable, eco-friendly products for kids.

The journey of The Baby Boy started in December 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, at a time when health and safety were major concerns for everyone, especially the little kids.

Recalling her childhood, Siddhi says that she was born and brought up in Mumbai. She recalls being an introverted child who would only study and go to school. Siddhi adds that her teachers helped her step out of her comfort zone and encouraged her to participate in extracurricular activities, which later helped her grow and become more confident in life.

Talking about her educational qualifications, Siddhi says that she completed her graduation in commerce from Kishinchand Chellaram College, followed by her Masters in Marketing from ICFAI Business School. Thereafter, she interned at HPCL and later got a job as a store manager at Airtel, an opportunity that came to her during the pandemic.

Sharing her pandemic experience, Siddhi says that she and her friends began working on ideas to enter the startup ecosystem. This was when they spotted the common problem of their family members buying products for children at home. The concept inspired them to launch subscription boxes that deliver essentials for children to people's doorsteps.

When asked about her mistakes, Siddhi says she feels that taking decisions without proper research and doing everything by herself was a mistake. However, she adds that those mistakes contributed to her learning.

Speaking about her achievements, Siddhi says that taking time out of her schedule to visit NGOs to teach children is one of her happiest moments. Adding to it, Siddhi says that adopting a roadside cat, which she found in a bad condition, later came as a blessing to her.

In her challenging times, Siddhi looks up to her teachers and learns from their experiences. She emphasises that experience is the best teacher one can have.

Siddhi advises the youth to do proper market research on the field they wish to enter. She suggests they not try to do everything by themselves but divide their tasks.

In her free time, Siddhi practises meditation and likes to read books.
