Siddharth Sharma is the owner of Swastik Engineering in Udaipur. His business specialises in mechanical products, primarily pneumatic tools and fittings.

Siddharth was born and brought up in Udaipur. He completed his schooling at St. Paul's School in Udaipur. He admits that he was not a very studious student.

Siddharth shares that after completing his BTech in Mechanical Engineering, he worked in a consulting firm for a few years. However, the job environment and salary there did not appeal to him. He decided to venture into the entrepreneurial world and start his own business. Initially, there were many struggles for his company, including the procurement of equipment, competition from other dealers and businesses in the market, and establishing a well-targeted clientele, all of which he dealt with spectacularly through planning and sheer willpower in the coming years.

Siddharth’s role model is his father, as he was skilled at financial planning and handled every challenge that he faced. Perseverance and patience are the two most important qualities in life, which Siddharth learned from him.

Sharing his COVID experiences, Siddharth says that during COVID-19, all business operations were closed in accordance with government guidelines. There were severe financial losses for his company. However, he started coping with losses gradually after the lockdown was lifted and demand was established again. Speaking about his personal experience during the pandemic, Siddharth says it was a very joyous period for him, as he was married just before the lockdown. From a personal perspective, he enjoyed spending time with his wife just after marriage.

Advising aspirants to his field, Siddharth says that acquiring an engineering degree is a must if one wishes to join this industry. Furthermore, he says that the most important thing in any business is patience and a positive attitude. One must be patient while dealing with suppliers, clients, and miscellaneous issues. Communication skills are an essential factor in business.

In his spare time, Siddharth likes playing sports and spending time with his family.

Comparing education and experience, Siddharth says that both are important in life. He believes that experience is crucial when it comes to training. He feels that experience gives us problem-solving and managerial skills, which are in high demand.

According to Siddharth, leadership is a skill that is acquired over time through experience. He believes that a leader must be able to handle his subordinates as a team and as a unit. When things don't go as planned, a leader must be able to make sound judgments and inspire confidence in his or her team.

If given a time machine to go back in time, Siddharth would want to relive his school days and enjoy life with his friends.
