Siddhant Parihar is the owner and manager at Panna Villas, a renowned restaurant and hotel in Rajasthan.
Siddhant has been involved in the hospitality industry since 2007. He and his father started a lounge and restaurant in 2013 with the aim of providing a quality ambiance for guests and entertaining them with good food and a warm, luxurious hotel room. Currently, Panna Vilas has 27 rooms and a good restaurant, bar, and lounge.
Siddhant was born in Ahmedabad. He says that he has been an extroverted child. His father was in the handicraft business, for which he had to move a lot, which allowed them to travel to various parts of the country and gain a lot of experience studying in different schools and meeting new people.
He enjoyed some of his best childhood years at St. Paul’s Convent School. His brother was good at cricket, and he was good at other sports like swimming. He goes on to share that he participated in national swimming events during school. He believes he was an average student academically. Later, he completed his graduation in BHMCT at the Lavasa Hotel Management Institute.
From the beginning of his involvement in the family business of hospitality, Siddhant had always aimed at improving customer relations and maintaining them. The main challenge of being in the hospitality industry is that there are never really the same customers again. Handling different customers proved to be difficult for him during his initial days. Behaving in a proper manner with those who were rowdy as guests was difficult for him, but as he gradually learned the profession and gained experience, he became more patient with guests and handled their problems.
Siddhant always aimed to improve the business of the hotel. As a result, he proposed the idea of a hookah bar in his hotel lounge. This involved a lot of convincing on his part, as he wanted to do something new and unique at a time when only traditional hotels existed in Rajasthan and a western concept had never really been tried. Major renovations and legal procedures followed.
Changing the mindset of his father was very difficult initially, as other families also visited the place, and his father was reluctant to entertain anything that may prove to be derogatory. Maintaining discipline among guests was difficult, but they managed it with the help of designated areas for smoking and adhering to legal procedures.
Siddhant feels fortunate for the upbringing given by his parents, whose personalities have inspired him deeply while growing up. He maintains a positive attitude and learns from every little experience. He further shares that his father never spoon-fed either him or his brother, for which he is grateful and happy to have experienced life and learned from its various challenges.
When asked about his role models, Siddhant considers his parents to be his role models.
Siddhant believes that education and experience are both important. Education is the foundation on which experience is built.
In his spare time, Siddhant likes traveling to new places, meeting new people, and learning new things, as it gives him experience about life and its various struggles, which cannot be learned through just a degree earned by attending classrooms. He also likes collecting vintage cars and spending time with his family.
Siddhant’s life mantra is that nothing is permanent in life, so enjoy what you have now.
