A marketing manager with a desire to learn,  Shyama rose to prominence in the culinary industry by learning new skills from different people.

Shyama Thanvi is an influencer, marketing manager and vlogger at ‘Plate it with Shyama Thanvi’. She has been in the food space for seven years.

Recalling her childhood, Shyama says she was born and brought up in Pokaran, Jaisalmer. She was a science student and wanted to build a career in the education field. She was also interested in cooking, as her mother is a good cook. Being from a family where everyone likes food, engagement with food and cooking became her passion. She completed her education from there and shifted to Indore after marriage.

Sharing her journey, Shyama says she used to work at BetterButter on the food recipe contest team. Later, she started working as an influencer and marketing manager, and also started sharing videos and posts on social media platforms. She says that she has learned a lot from her journey.

Talking about her accomplishments, Shyama says she has participated in online contests multiple times when she used to work at BetterButter. Her recipes have also been published in the newspapers. She has been awarded Chef of the Year award in Indore, which is her biggest accomplishment.

When asked about her role models, Shyama says many people have inspired her and taught her different things. Her mother and other family members helped her learn to cook. She learned to bake from Nandini Maheswari, which also added skills to her cooking.

To relieve stress, Shyama keeps herself busy with different activities, as it makes the day productive and helps her in achieving mental peace.

Shyama’s life mantra is "Do whatever you want to do."

Advising newcomers, Shyama says passion is essential to step into the food space.
