Shyam Singh Rajpurohit is working as an Assistant Professor at the Pacific School of Law, Udaipur. He has been associated with the field of Advocacy for a few years.
Shyam belongs to the Pali district of Rajasthan. He did his schooling from there itself in Science-Biology. He says that due to lack of knowledge and awareness, he did B.A from his village. Then he came to know about Law and did LLB from MLSU, Udaipur. Currently he is pursuing his PhD in Law from MLSU in which he is doing his research work on Human Trafficking.
Talking about his Role Models, Shyam says he considers his maternal uncle as a source of inspiration as he has faced many struggles in his life from academic period till the time of getting a job. And currently he is posted as an Additional SP in the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Shyam says that during the Covid pandemic, he was posted in a Nathdwara College but as soon as the lockdown was imposed, his classes were shifted to the online platform. He took all the classes from home. But when the situation started getting better, he resumed going to college where the management refused to pay him salary for the pandemic period. He felt deceived and could hardly keep up. That was a difficult time for him.
Regarding his achievements, Shyam says that he considers the opportunity he got to pursue his PhD from MLSU as his biggest achievement.
Expressing his disappointment, Shyam says that today’s generation doesn’t want to work hard, they want everything spoon fed. So his advice to them is to recognize your abilities, work hard in your field, give your best and prove yourself on the strength of your talents.
Shyam, in his spare time, enjoys sitting, talking and spending time with people.
