A third-generation beauty professional, Shwetasha Paliwal blends inherited legacy with global training. With over 1,000 students trained and two national champions under her mentorship, she remains the only Indian hairdresser to secure 4th rank at the OMC World Cup.

Shwetasha Paliwal is the Creative Director and Trainer at Prabhat Spa Salon N Institute, Udaipur—an institution that’s not only iconic in the city but also deeply rooted in her family’s legacy.

A third-generation professional in the Beauty and Wellness industry, Shwetasha brings both inherited wisdom and international finesse to her work. She also holds the distinguished roles of National Trainer and Government-Appointed Juror at world-scale competitions organized by the Indian government—adding stature to her already multifaceted profile.

Prabhat Spa Salon N Institute was founded in 1959 by Comrade Bhawar Lal Barber. At a time when salons in smaller Indian cities were modest, he envisioned and built the largest, most well-equipped salon in Udaipur—offering comprehensive services that included Skin Care, Hair Styling, and Grooming. His forward-thinking approach set a new benchmark in the local beauty space, long before modern industry standards emerged. Over time, his children—Shwetasha’s father, mother, and uncle—joined the profession, making it a generational enterprise. Today, as the torchbearer of this legacy, Shwetasha Paliwal continues to uphold and innovate on the values her grandfather laid down.

Under her creative leadership, Prabhat Spa Salon N Institute now offers a wide range of services including hairstyling, haircuts, hair coloring, makeup, skincare treatments, and nail services. With an eye for detail and a passion for transformation, Shwetasha Paliwal ensures that each client receives not just a service—but an experience that elevates their confidence and presence.

In the year 2000, her parents—Ashok Kumar Paliwal and Asha Paliwal—laid the foundation for the educational wing of their legacy: Prabhat Academy. Built with the vision of nurturing talent in the beauty industry, the academy began with a strong focus on structured training and evolved into a respected learning hub. Today, the Prabhat Group runs four salon branches across Udaipur and operates two dedicated academies in Shobhagpura and Panchwati.

At Prabhat Academy, courses cater to a wide range of learners—from absolute beginners to experienced professionals seeking updates in their craft. The flagship offering is a comprehensive 6-month Diploma Course covering hair, makeup, and skin therapies. In addition, short-term courses ranging from one week to 15–20 days are available for working professionals who need to stay updated with evolving industry techniques and global trends.

Prabhat Spa Salon Creative Director Shwetasha Paliwal’s professional philosophy is deeply personal. Growing up in an environment where her parents transformed people’s lives through beauty care, she found early inspiration in the simple yet profound smile of a satisfied client. She recalls how, from a young age, she recognized the power of grooming—not just to change how someone looks, but to uplift how they feel. Good hair, radiant skin, and flawless makeup, she says, often lead to a surge in self-confidence and even spark personality development. These childhood observations fueled her decision to join the industry.

Her formal training began at the age of 17, immediately after completing her schooling. Her father took her to Mumbai, where she enrolled in Nalini & Yasmin Academy—a renowned institution that marked the beginning of her professional journey. Over the years, she expanded her skill set by undergoing numerous international training programs, including those at Vidal Sassoon Academy—a globally revered institution in the hairstyling world. Often referred to as the Oxford of hairdressing, Vidal Sassoon is the ultimate dream destination for stylists across the globe. There, Shwetasha completed her advanced training in hairdressing, refining her creative eye and mastering global techniques that set a new benchmark for her work.

Determined to diversify her skills, she further pursued courses at Toni & Guy Academy in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), gaining exposure to diverse clientele, contemporary styles, and cross-cultural approaches to grooming and aesthetics. With her foundational and advanced training now complete, she returned to her roots—joining the family salon as an assistant.

But even with world-class training, earning trust in a legacy business is never automatic. Stepping into a space built on her father’s decades of dedication was no small feat. Shwetasha openly shares that the pressure was real. Her father had already built a strong and loyal clientele, and in the world of grooming—where one works directly on a client’s face, skin, or hair—there is zero margin for error. Unlike other professions, a mistake here isn’t easily corrected. It takes time, skill, and a consistent professional approach to build credibility.

Years of disciplined work gradually earned her client trust. She progressed from being an assistant to becoming a senior stylist. With each service delivered with precision and care, Shwetasha carved out her own reputation within the family legacy.

Her evolution didn’t end at styling. Watching her parents train students from Udaipur and beyond, she realized the deeper impact of teaching. Training, she says, isn’t just about passing on a skill—it’s about enabling someone to become financially independent. She found immense fulfillment in this role, where sharing knowledge directly contributes to someone’s livelihood. In the beauty industry, technical training and education are the cornerstones of professional success. Clients today are well-informed, largely due to the influence of social media. They understand trends, techniques, and results, making it imperative for professionals to stay updated and ahead of the curve.

Recognizing this, Shwetasha stepped into training with both passion and purpose. Over the years, she has trained more than 1,000+ students—many of whom are now successfully working in the industry and supporting themselves. As a trainer, she sees this as one of her most meaningful achievements.

Among the most prestigious of her training accomplishments is her role in the IndiaSkills and WorldSkills Competitions—Olympic-level platforms organized under the aegis of NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, for participants under the age of 21. WorldSkills functions much like the actual Olympics, except it celebrates excellence in trades and vocational skills. Participants first compete at the local level, then move to regionals, followed by nationals. Winners from India then go on to represent the country at the international level.

Hair Stylist Shwetasha Paliwal has been both a National Trainer and Government-Appointed Juror for the Hairdressing category in these global competitions. Under her mentorship at Prabhat Academy, two of her students—Pradeep Ved and Charmy Sen—excelled at the national level and earned medallions for India at the international WorldSkills platform. These were the only two hairdressers from India who reached this level, and both of them proudly represent Prabhat Academy on the global map. For Shwetasha, it was a moment of pride not just as a teacher, but as a flag-bearer of Indian talent on an international stage.

Born and raised in Udaipur, Shwetasha Paliwal carries not just the name of her family legacy but also its deep-rooted values. She completed her education in the city, and from an early age, her biggest inspiration has been her father. The moment she understood what hairdressing truly meant, it was her father’s expertise and passion that captivated her. She saw his hands work with precision, his demeanor calm yet confident—and knew this was the craft she wanted to pursue. Though she humbly admits that she may never match his finesse, she has always aspired to live up to his standards and make him proud.

Another role model who deeply influenced her professional growth is Vidal Sassoon, whose academy shaped her foundational understanding of hair artistry. But Shwetasha believes that before stepping into any field—be it hair, skin, music, or dance—one must genuinely love what they do. According to her, passion is the only constant that ensures long-term success. If you are committed and enjoy your craft, no one can stop you from achieving excellence.

To aspiring professionals in the beauty and wellness industry, her message is crystal clear: never stop updating yourself. Skill refinement is an ongoing process, and one must always compete with themselves, not with others. It is self-competition, she believes, that pushes people to grow steadily without distractions. Punctuality, consistency, and regular practice form the backbone of this craft—because the more one practices, the better they get at perfecting their techniques. And in this field, where results are immediately visible and client satisfaction is everything, being updated and self-aware is not just helpful—it’s necessary.

With a deep sense of gratitude, Shwetasha Paliwal extends her heartfelt thanks to all the clients who have placed their trust in her over the years. From styling their hair to now grooming their children, her association with many families spans generations. It’s not just a client-stylist relationship anymore—it’s a connection built on loyalty, trust, and shared growth. She warmly invites anyone seeking a transformation to step into Prabhat Spa Salon, promising not just a makeover but a boost in confidence and beauty from within.

While her daily work at the salon reflects commercial routine—starting the day, managing appointments, and delivering expert services—there is another facet to her professional life that adds depth: competitions. Participating in competitions, she explains, is entirely different from daily salon tasks. Competitions challenge your skills at the highest level, push you out of your comfort zone, and expose you to global standards of excellence. You don’t just do your job—you specialize, you innovate, and you excel.

Shwetasha’s competitive path began around 2011, and since then, she has consistently represented herself and India at national and international stages. She has participated in prestigious national platforms such as Wella TrendVision and the L'Oréal Color Trophy, securing recognition for her creativity and skill. Internationally, she has competed in the OMC (Organisation Mondiale Coiffure) competitions held in Paris, Frankfurt, and across Asia, including Malaysia.

One of her proudest moments came when she represented India at the OMC World Cup and secured 4th position globally—a feat that places her among the most accomplished hairdressers in the country. She proudly says that, to the best of her knowledge, she is the only Indian hairstylist to have reached such a high rank at that level. This moment of standing on a world stage, carrying the name of her country and her salon, continues to fill her with gratitude and pride.

Her expertise doesn’t stop with her own success. She leads a team of highly trained and professional staff, many of whom have been with Prabhat Spa Salon for over two decades. Their loyalty reflects the healthy, empowering work culture that Shwetasha and her family have cultivated.

Notably, her stylists haven’t just served clients—they’ve gone on to participate in national competitions themselves, winning accolades in hairdressing and proving that the salon is not just a workplace, but a talent incubator. Shwetasha believes a salon’s strength isn’t measured by the achievements of its owner alone, but by how empowered and skilled the entire team is.

As she wraps up her reflections, she expresses joy in having shared her story. She believes platforms like #MeriKahani are important—they allow professionals like her to highlight the deeper emotions, the sacrifices, and the perseverance that often go unnoticed behind success.
