Dr. Shweta Pandey is the founder of Ranchi Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre and also specialises in cardiopulmonary physiotherapy. She has achieved significant success in rehabilitating immobile patients and providing critical care during the pandemic, emphasising the importance of patient trust and internal healing.

Dr. Shweta Pandey is an expert in cardiopulmonary physiotherapy, which she has been practicing for the last three years. Dr. Pandey is the founder of a clinic under the name 'Ranchi Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre' in Ranchi.

She recognizes that, due to the country's growing population, increased awareness about cardiopulmonary diseases is essential. This awareness will help people maintain lung health and better combat conditions like coronavirus, asthma, and other related diseases.

Talking about her noteworthy accomplishments, Dr. Pandey shares that she, along with her team, was able to cure a patient in a month who was completely immobile. They worked on his belief system and gained his trust that he could do his daily chores and get back to normal. Hence, Dr. Pandey shares that a patient can recover only if he wants to do so and trusts his ability to get back to normal life again. She stresses the internal healing process of the human body, which helped her achieve one of the biggest achievements of her life.

Secondly, Dr. Shweta shares that during the pandemic, there were approximately 200 people in her hospital. Providing mental support and medical aid helped the patients recover and discharge with good physical health, which was also a big achievement for her.

Born and raised in Arrah, Bihar, Dr. Shweta is originally from Ranchi. Inspired by her maternal grandfather, who used axillary crutches due to polio, she was motivated to help and treat individuals with disabilities. She aimed to raise awareness to prevent handicaps in society. Dr. Pandey notes that cerebral palsy is increasingly common among children. After completing her 12th grade in Arrah, she earned a BPT degree from Magadh University in 2017 and completed her internship in Dehradun. She then worked at a hospital in Ambala and completed her MPT in cardiopulmonary care in 2020.

Dr. Shweta figured out that practicing physiotherapy and spreading awareness about it would help eradicate this problem in remote areas and small towns. After this, she decided to start her own clinic under the name 'Ranchi Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre.'

Describing her struggles, Shweta shares that the period from 2018 to 2022 was very stressful for her and her family as her father was depressed due to some reasons. Being the elder sister, she had to look after her younger brother and other family members. From joining clinics to learning work and gaining expertise in her field, it has been a very trying period for her. She used to wake up early to attend to patients starting at 7 a.m., and then worked at her clinic from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Afterward, she continued seeing patients from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., making her schedule very hectic.

In her field, patients might be immobile, so Dr. Panday personally visited them to provide physiotherapy. The cold winters in Bihar made waking up early and starting her day a significant challenge.

Dr. Pandey finds inspiration in everyone she meets, including girls who overcome barriers to education and working women. She draws motivation from people of all ages and backgrounds who strive to advance despite challenges.

If anyone wants to make a career in physiotherapy, Dr. Shweta advises them to study hard, listen to the patients carefully, and work on their sense of humour. She shares that different patients can have different symptoms for the same disease; the patient’s way of explaining their symptoms might be different, and one can learn to take these things only from their experience and not merely from bookish knowledge.

Dr. Shweta shares that the COVID phase in 2022 was challenging for her. Due to the demands of her profession, she had little time for her family. As a 'front-line warrior,' she strived to deliver her best in every situation.

Sharing the case of a patient from Patna, Dr. Pandey shares that within 1 week she was able to cure the patient, who was having major issues. She spread the word to as many people as possible so that she could be of maximum help to them in such difficult times.

Dr. Pandey advises aspiring medical professionals that it doesn't matter whether they attend a private or government college. She believes that, regardless of graduating from a private college, she and her batchmates have succeeded in their careers through their dedication and learning.

Shweta’s success mantra is to ‘believe in yourself and pay full attention to your work.’ She advises that one must feel 100% confident about delivering their best to the patients. Dr. Pandey considers her hidden secret in the profession to be that she listens to patients, which solves the problem by 50%. By doing so, the patients start trusting her and believe that at least their doctor is listening to them and giving them time. Dr. Pandey emphasizes explaining patients' conditions in detail to build a stronger rapport and ensure effective treatment.

In her free time, she focuses on learning new things, updating her skills, reading research papers, etc. She is also a painting enthusiast and indulges in spirituality.

To learn more about her cases and treatments, you can find Dr. Pandey on Google or Instagram by searching 'Ranchi Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre.'
