Shweta Kedia hails from Nepal and is currently pursuing her Masters in Orthodontics at Pacific Dental College, Udaipur. She completed her bachelors at Jaipur Dental College. She studied in Nepal only till the 3rd standard and then her parents sent her to India to do better in academics owing to disturbances in Nepal that hampered education. It was not easy for her to stay away from her parents and she had a constant urge to go back. However, she feels happy to have sustained it and it helped her to become whatever she is today. Shweta feels that learning never stops and it is important to stick where you are to not end up regretting later.
Shweta’s role models are her parents and brother who inspired her to work hard with full dedication. She says that to excel in any field, one ought to have an interest in the subject and it is not about the marks but the knowledge that stays with you.
Discussing COVID, Shweta shares that she was stuck in India with a very few students with whom she used to have a gala time playing games. Though it was a stressful period for her, she survived and also aided some emergency patients.
Shweta has been passionate about badminton, however owing to her laziness she could not go for national tournaments and was replaced by another player. Her college life has also been a struggle and she would not like to be in it again. If given an opportunity to go back in time and change things, she would like to go national in badminton and change her academic decisions.
Shweta loves indulging in sports activities and was also an NCC cadet that taught her to lead a disciplined life and gave her an opportunity to meet APJ Abdul Kalam. She says one should never miss any opportunity in life however small it may be.
Shweta prefers keeping a balance between education and experience and feels that not everything can be learnt by reading books since life introduces you to different realities which come only through experiences. Since childhood, she has put up her desires and choices first so that it is fulfilled.
Shweta believes that one should never keep oneself in an inferior position and have leadership qualities to succeed in life. She says that though she was never a born leader, she has learnt through her experiences that also gave her a chance to become a part of the prefectorial body of her school.
