Yoga is a combination of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual fitness.
Shweta Joshi is a yoga practitioner, yoga teacher, and owner of Shakti Yogshala. She aims to empower women and the world through her initiative.
Recalling her childhood, Shweta says that she grew up in an environment full of culture and values as taught by her parents. She was always fond of creativity and doing something new. Even after pursuing Interior Design, Shweta still felt as if something was missing in her life. It was during a period of stress and self-healing that yoga found its way into her life, offering a transformative experience that resonated deeply with her.
Shweta found a teacher for herself and started practising yoga with her. She later started teaching yoga while continuing her practice. Her first batch catered to women in the age group of 50 to 75 years of age. Shweta continued with her passion even after marriage and found her partner quite supportive of her ambitions. She has an MBA from Symbiosis and an MA in Yogic Science.
Shweta says that your emotional wellness is important since that also impacts your physical well-being. She says that the relevance of yoga increases with the increase in stress these days, as witnessed by people. Shweta adds that it is important to identify the root cause of the health issues people face these days.
Sharing her pandemic experience, Shweta says that switching from offline mode to online mode of teaching yoga was a challenge for her. However, at that time, her therapy-based approach helped thousands of women who were suffering from various health issues.
When asked about her role models, Shweta says she draws inspiration from her mentors, teachers, and parents, from whom she learned valuable things in life. She believes in the three values of truth, love, and compassion.
Speaking of her achievements, Shweta says that she has successfully solved the health problems of most of her clients, which is an achievement for her. She worked with one of her clients who had attempted suicide in the past and now works as a faculty member in her yoga school.
Shweta advises everyone to focus on an improved lifestyle, which involves sleeping on time and eating the right food. She adds that they should include meditation and yoga in their daily routine.
"Goodness pervades every corner. The key lies in cultivating the right vision to perceive its presence", says Shweta. On a similar note, she emphasises the importance of self-love. Shweta advises people to always stay down-to-earth, humble, and grounded.
