Shubham Kumar is the CEO of Leymens.com, a company manufacturing women’s apparel. Leymens is part of Jhaskcom Pvt. Ltd. The company has twelve factories in Jaipur, out of which six are tied up with small manufacturers.
Leymens works on a M to B, i.e., manufacturer-to-business model, thus eliminating wholesalers, agents, and traders from the middle. It also manufactures apparel on customized orders. In his company, all the processes, be it printing, cloth manufacturing, weaving, etc., are done in-house, thus producing the best quality products according to the demands of the market at lower margins.
Shubham is from Barmer, Rajasthan. He passed his 12th class from DPS, Jodhpur. At the age of 14, he went to Mumbai and started working in the share market there, as he was very fascinated by it. But, one fine day, his elder brother called him and asked him to come to Jaipur to head a company that they were buying from someone. Thus, he became the CEO of Leymens.com.
Shubham was basically a salesperson, so it took him some time to grasp the entire manufacturing process. But, with the help of some senior employees, he learned the ropes of the trade. He supplies his products as far as the North East and Bhutan.
The COVID lockdown affected his business last year. He suffered losses. But this year has been good, and he has covered all his losses. He has even opened a new store in Jaipur. Now he has started video-marketing his products and has taken to digital marketing in a big way. He launches five to ten designs every week.
Shubham says he was not a born leader. He was an average student and was, in fact, a dropout. But he has picked up leadership qualities over the years and meets his section heads every day to boost them.
His hobbies include cycling and playing with his pet dogs. However, he does not find much time for his hobbies. Earlier, he liked sports and was a state-level athlete in shot put.
His success mantra is not what you do to achieve success, but he thinks what you sacrifice for your success matters a lot. He also believes in simplifying processes.
His future plans are to increase his brand’s presence in India. He also wants to build his own building for his factory. He wants to tie up with many small manufacturers. He also works for social welfare by tying up with some NGOs and promoting accessory manufacturing by them with his products.
