Shruti's pursuit of her passion for fashion has led to her successful career as a fashion designer. She takes pride in the fact that she now employs more than fifty people, a testament to her hard work and dedication.

Shruti Sehgal is a Fashion Designer and the founder of 'Scarlet by Shruti Jamaal'.

Shruti hails from the Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. After completing her B.Com (Honours) and MBA, she pursued a career with the Aditya Birla Group in Mumbai. Despite achieving good success in that job, she later moved to Chandigarh, where she took on the role of an HR manager, despite it offering a lower salary than her previous job.

In 2013, driven by her passion for fashion design and drawing from her experience in digital marketing and an MBA, Shruti embarked on a journey to establish her own fashion brand. She initially started with showcasing a small collection on Facebook while balancing her job. Over time, she gradually expanded her business and team of tailors, paving her way to success in the fashion industry.

Shruti shares that she comes from a family where pursuing fashion design was not considered a viable career option due to their emphasis on education. However, her close connection to nature and her habit of sketching eventually led her down the path of becoming a fashion designer.

Reflecting on her journey, Shruti says that, due to her background in corporate culture, she was trying to manage her business professionally. However, transitioning to entrepreneurship, she learned the importance of connecting with her customers on a personal level and understanding their expectations. She emphasises the value of transparency and honesty in marketing and encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to prioritise fulfilling customer needs and maintaining fair pricing.

According to Shruti, meeting customer expectations and offering competitive pricing are key factors in overcoming challenges as an entrepreneur.

Talking about her mistakes, Shruti acknowledges that she has learned the importance of patience. She emphasises the value of allowing children to learn from their own experiences and not providing them with all luxuries, as it fosters resilience and independence.

When it comes to her role models, Shruti says she looks up to M.S. Pillai, the founder and Director of SCMHRD College, for teaching her the importance of being observant. Additionally, she draws inspiration from her mother, who has always believed in her and exemplified hard work throughout her life.

Regarding her achievements, Shruti highlights her enduring passion for work, even after thirteen years in the industry, as a significant milestone. She considers maintaining this enthusiasm over the years to be her greatest achievement. Additionally, she takes pride in working with celebrities and earning recognition among industry stalwarts. She recalls an incident when Jasmine Sandlas recognised her and asked her assistant to contact her.

In her free time, Shruti enjoys spending time with her pet dog. Additionally, she finds solace in creative pursuits like sketching, painting, and enhancing her living space by cleaning and decorating it.

Offering advice to the youth, Shruti emphasises the importance of starting one's career with a job to learn discipline. She encourages aspiring entrepreneurs by stressing that not every business requires a substantial capital investment to begin. Starting with a small investment and gradually scaling up can lead to significant success. Moreover, she advises them to find satisfaction in their growth and thrive amidst competition.
