A certified Make-up Artist, Shraddha Gaikwad feels that the make-up industry has a good scope and the industry will only grow in future.

Shraddha Gaikwad has been in the Make-up industry for the past seven years. Her last assignment was with Lakme, Mumbai.

Shraddha was born and raised in Mumbai and completed her school education from there itself. After her 12th-grade examinations, she joined a government offered course on Beauty and Make-up Art. From there, she got interested in Make-up Art and thought of making her career in this field only. Later she also did a few relevant courses on Make-up Art.

Shraddha says that she was earlier working in Mumbai, however after her wedding she settled in Pune with her husband.

Shraddha shares that she started her career in Make-up Art from a small salon based in Mumbai itself where she worked for four years. Then she worked with a big brand to learn the art better. Later, she took a break from her job and did a six-month-long course on Make-up from Indian School of Beauty.

After completing the course, Shraddha joined Lakme in Mumbai. Working there she got to attend many big fashion events and shows as a make-up artist which were organized by Lakme.

Talking about Covid, Shraddha says that during the pandemic she didn’t have to struggle much on the financial front as she kept getting her salary. However, her freelancing work got affected. Besides, she says that the second wave of the pandemic created more fear among the public. However, remaining at home and taking all the safety measures, she taught Make-up Art to two students.

Shraddha thinks that Education is important but Experience is more important. She says that in the Make-up industry one learns with experience only and hence one’s experience is always counted in this industry.

To aspiring make-up artists, Shraddha advises them to always remain patient as she thinks remaining patient will help them deal with their clients better. Besides, she advises them to learn as much as possible about the art.
