Shivraj Rao is a Rajasthan civil defence personnel posted in the Baran control room.

Shivraj Rao is from Bhanwargarh village in Baran district of Rajasthan. He has done Masters in Arts and has a diploma in music. Currently he is further continuing studying music.

Shivraj was always an enthusiastic child and used to like going to school. He recalls that he did not like it when his family wanted him to help in household chores instead of going to school. Anyway he went to school regularly and used to take his friends to school with him and made them understand the value of education.

However when Shivraj came in tenth standard he used to enjoy practicing his family business of band playing in wedding functions. So he used to skip school and go with his father and brothers and took part in his family business, where sometimes he would get paid too. After completing his B.A he became a volunteer in the Nehru Yuva Kendra, where he used to educate the people of villages about various government schemes. Thereafter he got selected in an NGO as a team leader. Finally he was selected in the Rajasthan civil defence and is currently posted at the Baran control room.

Shivraj is satisfied with his job and believes that struggles are part of life. And he takes problems as fun and enjoys life to the fullest.
