A performing artist, Shivangee has been learning dance since her childhood. She believes an artist needs to constantly practice to master their art. She also teaches her students at her institute.

Shivangee Vikram is a Bharatanatyam artist. She has been in this field for the last 25 years.

Shivangee belongs to Ahmedabad.

Recalling her childhood, Shivangee says that her family’s environment was such that they encouraged her to focus on both arts and academics. In fact, she completed her basic education of Bharatanatyam under the guidance of her mother. She is also a Visharad in Music. Her father was from a science background, so he used to take her to science exhibitions and workshops. After completing her education, she decided to pursue dance as her career and did her graduation and postgraduate studies at Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai.

Shivangee shares that, coming back from Mumbai, she joined her mother, who was already running an institute. Together, they choreographed many dance performances and did research work in the field.

Sharing her journey, Shivangee says she used to participate in all the extracurricular activities in her school. She wanted to become a performing artist and began focusing on learning Bharatanatyam. Even in college, she used to practice a lot and was happy that she was doing what she wanted to do.

Talking about her mistakes, Shivangee says that one should get as much exposure as possible early in their lives, as it will help them in their career later. Learning from her mistakes, she became a better dancer and a much better human being.

When asked about her role models, Shivangee says that her parents are her inspiration who have taught her to do constant hard work. She has also learned a lot from her gurus and senior artists.

Shivangee's life mantra is that you should never compromise on hard work.
