After working in the hospitality industry for some time, Shiv decided to teach and share his experience with students of hotel management. And since then, he has been training aspiring hotel managers to become the best that they can be in the industry.

Shiv Kumar Yadav is a senior lecturer at The Lalit Suri Hospitality School where he also looks after the administration. He has been working in the hospitality industry for the past fifteen years.

Shiv hails from Haryana. He completed high school in Delhi. He completed his bachelors from IHM, Meerut.

Recalling his childhood, Shiv says that his father worked for the army, and owing to that he got to spend his childhood in different states of the country. He grew up in different cities of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, etc., and due to that, he got to experience different cultures and try different cuisines in his childhood.

Shiv shares that after completing his bachelors, he worked as a food and beverage services associate with a renowned hotel chain. Thereafter, he worked as an assistant restaurant manager. Then he decided to move toward the academic side of hotel management to teach students through his experience.

Shiv says his first teaching job was at LIBHM and then he taught at The Hotel School. For the last seven to eight years he has been teaching at The Lalit Suri Hospitality School.

When asked about his role models, Shiv says that his father has always been his role model. His father always guides him in his moments of doubt.

To aspiring students of hotel management, Shiv advises them to be nice to others and always to keep a smile on their faces. He says irrespective of what you are going through in your life, you should always treat your guests with a smile on your face. Besides, he tells them that after completing their studies, they can work for travel agencies, and MNCs, and can even go for further studies abroad.
