Recognising her abilities and knack for teaching, Shilpa chose the teaching career over her family business.

Shilpa Rathi is a Teacher at Alok Sansthan.

Shilpa belongs to Nathdwara. She did her Business Management Education from Udaipur followed by an MBA. Thereafter, she was on her way to joining her family business when it occurred to her that she is a very good trainer and thus chose the teaching field.

Shilpa joined Alok School nine years back and has been teaching there since then. She teaches Business Studies and Entrepreneurship. She says that it is the perfect career for her as she likes speaking to people and brainstorming.

Talking about role models, Shilpa says that her mother is her role model. Shilpa says that her mother also loves teaching and she thinks that she inspired her to pursue the same career.

Sharing her experience of the COVID pandemic, Shilpa says that although no one in her family was directly affected by it, it was an unpleasant experience for everyone. She says that many people suffered mental problems due to it. She further adds that her organisation helped everyone cope by having interactive sessions and she herself took to social media to stay lively. She also continued teaching through the online mode.

Advising the upcoming generation, Shilpa says that you should not just follow others but use a wide range of resources available to create something of your own.

Given a chance to go back to the past with a time machine, Shilpa would like to relive her school days and do things that she couldn’t do then.

During her free time, Shilpa likes keeping herself updated by surfing the internet and reading books.

Speaking of changing trends in teaching, Shilpa says that students of this generation are smarter and need more than just textbook knowledge. She believes that teachers should establish a personal rapport with students to ease them while teaching.
