Getting into anchoring by accident, Shikha made her mark in the field and then moved on to acting and theater. She also runs an NGO to give back to society.

Shikha Pareek is an anchor and actor. She has been working with various TV channels like Doordarshan, Zee TV, ETV, and many more since 1999. She has also acted in various movies and TV serials. She is also running an NGO named “Samarpit Sathi” to fulfill her duties towards society. Shikha hails from Jaipur.

Recalling her childhood memories, Shikha says that childhood is an integral part of everyone's life and that no one can ever forget it. She has four sisters and one younger brother. She remembers that her father used to play badminton with them after work. She feels proud about her upbringing, which her parents provided, and the time they spent with her, even if they had a transferable job and used to come on weekends only.

Describing her professional journey, Shikha says she accidentally got into the field of anchoring. She used to accompany her sister to her office when she first started working for ETV because of the late hours. She used to correct and make changes to the scripts for her sister’s shows. The channel liked her scripts very much and offered her the position of scriptwriter. She was also selected in the auditions for anchoring. She did many shows with various TV channels like Doordarshan, ETV, and Zee TV. After working for years, she decided to change her profile and move towards theater. In her very first try, the director of the play offered her the lead role. She has played many continuity roles in different serials on renowned TV channels. She also got the opportunity to work in a movie with Rajkumar Rao, a veteran actor of Hindi cinema.

When asked about her mistakes, Shikha says everyone makes them at some point. She recalls one of the offers she got for an acting job a while back, and she said no to the offer because she didn’t want to go to Mumbai. But she regrets that she should have accepted that and walked down that path in the movie industry.

Speaking about her achievements, Shikha says, from her point of view, achievements are when people start recognizing and respecting you for your work. Many colleges and universities have asked her to judge student competitions. She felt accomplished when she founded her own NGO and started serving society. She works for underprivileged children and teaches them vocational skills through workshops.

When asked about her role models, Shikha says she considers her husband as her role model. She has seen her husband work towards his goal with passion, which inspires her a lot.

In her free time, Shikha likes to talk with people to enhance her knowledge. She also enjoys writing and reading in every genre. She likes to do gardening too.

Shikha advises people to forget the harsh experiences and learn to smile. The small gesture of smiling makes your surrounding environment and people happy. This ultimately makes you the favorite person.

Shikha's advice to the younger generation who want to pursue a career as an anchor is to start taking part in their school's activities and get over their reservations. She further advises practicing in front of a mirror or camera to correct vocabulary errors and other mistakes.
