Shaurya Jain is a fifth-year Architecture Student and an Equestrian Player by passion. She has won many accolades in local Horse Riding Games along with participating in the Nationals.

Shaurya Jain has recently played in the National Equestrian Championship. She has been doing Horse Riding since the start of her college in 2017. Her father has been her greatest motivator and support in choosing this sport. Shaurya participated in the Horse Riding Parade at her College’s Sports Day Event, where she saw young girls performing various Horse Riding Sports and instantly got inspired to learn them herself. Thus, she started doing Horse Riding with determination making it her goal.

Convincing her parents was the initial struggle that Shaurya had to face. However, eventually, she convinced them. But, Horse Riding is a new sport in Udaipur with very few to no interested candidates. Therefore, finding places and horses to practice was a hardship for Shaurya. She had to travel to other cities and rent horses to practice her sport. Moreover, managing her extensive Architecture studies and tiring Horse Riding practice sessions was another struggle. But, with the support of her teachers, she was able to do it well. Shaurya feels that despite all the hardships that came her way, her strong will to find a way helped her rise above them.

Shaurya feels that the happiness her parents feel due to her endeavours is her biggest achievement. Moreover, being the only female candidate in the Junior National Championship and one of the only two females in the Senior National Championship was another memorable achievement for her. Shaurya won several gold medals in various Local Horse Riding Events and Competitions. Furthermore, being on the stage with immensely trained Army men and Policemen have been a rewarding experience for her.

Shaurya advises aspiring horse riders to understand the nature of the animal and create a friendly bond with them before actually doing the sport. Understanding the animal and basic horse riding is a must to do any sport. Being fearless and determined is a much-needed feature of a good Equestrian sportsperson.

Shaurya’s Success Mantra is consistent passion, strong willpower, determination, and a clear target. She believes in the quote that says, if you can dream it, you are already halfway there. Therefore, she urges everyone to never give up.
