Shanu Lodha was born and brought up in Udaipur. She did her schooling at St. Mary’s School, Udaipur. She completed her CA at the age of 22. After completing her CA, she joined IIM Udaipur as the administrative officer in the year 2012. She is the youngest female administrative officer among all the officers at IIMs and IITs.
Shanu Lodha is truly a versatile personality. She can dance, sing, play Basketball and do modeling. She has been a national-level basketball player and dancer during her school days. She also got awards for her dance performances at the national level. She has also won a beauty pageant named The Face of Udaipur for two consecutive years. She has also worked for Sabyasachi, the fashion designer. She is the president of the Toastmasters Club, Udaipur. She also engages in philanthropic activities. She has adopted a few villages to improve their conditions. For this, she has also got recognition from the government for her valuable contribution.
Talking about challenges in life, Shanu says that everybody has to face challenges in their life. She has also faced challenges in her life. At school, she was bullied by senior girls. But that bullying never pulled her down. She improved every day and worked to turn her dreams into reality.
She stresses that besides general communication skills one should have good business communication skills. She is also doing her MBA from NMIMS to learn the MBA jargon so that it can aid her in her work as an administrator at IIM Udaipur.
Shanu advises that one should have confidence in oneself. Whatever work we do we should do with full enthusiasm. No work is small or big; the way you execute it is important.
Shanu considers Indira Nooyi as her inspiration. She shares a quote from Indira Nooyi that - Even pencils have erasers. Nobody is perfect. Knowing your shortcomings and overcoming them is very important in life.
Shanu says that education is really important in life. Education introduces us to the theoretical aspects of things. She, however, acknowledges that experience has its own value.
During her free time, she likes to go on trekking with friends. She also likes to sing.
She lays the importance on striking a balance between professional and private life. She also says that EQ is equally important as IQ. She feels that during this pandemic, everybody realized the importance of their family in their life.
