After working in various jobs, Shanky plunged into the sales field. Eventually, he created a place for himself in the media and journalism industry by becoming the sales and marketing manager at Zee Media.

Shanky Khanna heads the sales department of Zee News for the Udaipur and Kota districts.

Shanky belongs to Kota, Rajasthan. He did all his school and college education from Kota itself. Then he got placed at Data Corp Computer Systems in Delhi through his campus placement drive. Unable to endure the tough job culture there, he soon returned to Kota. Coming here, he worked as an MR for some time and then landed in the field of sales. While working, he gave many interviews, and finally, he got selected at Dainik Bhaskar. From there, he entered the field of media and journalism.

Recalling his childhood, Shanky says that since childhood, he had been a simple guy who enjoyed every moment along with being good at studies.

Talking about his role models, Shanky says he considers his parents as his role models for always supporting him. In addition, he draws inspiration from his ex-bosses, who helped him to advance in his career.

Expressing his views about COVID, Shanky says that this disease may have created a lot of upheaval in the world. But it has also generated a new understanding among people as they are now ready to help each other, a sense of brotherhood has intensified and people have become aware of preserving nature too.

According to Shanky, both education and experience are equally important to make a career. He believes that to get into any field, it is very important to have a basic knowledge of that subject, which education provides. Also, he says that experience should always be backed by education to achieve more and to go a long way.

Regarding leadership, Shanky says that he might not consider himself a leader but he is a good follower. He considers his boss as his leader and following the path shown by him, he could cross all the ups and downs in his career and achieve several milestones in his life.

Shanky likes to spend his spare time playing with his son and teaching him new things. He also likes to get involved in household chores.

If anyone wants to make a career in the media sales field, Shanky advises them that first, you should be interested in it, and secondly, remove all your hesitations before entering it. He also tells them to keep themselves informed and updated by reading newspapers and watching news channels to get a hang of how this industry works.

Encouraging today’s youth, Shanky says that you must enter this field because you are the young blood full of enthusiasm and energy. You can work in the field and excel in your career, as sales have an enormous and vast scope compared to other fields. He adds that it gives you a perk of getting knowledge of every area and subject as you get an opportunity to meet people from different industries. Plus, there is immense money in this field.
