Shanker Soni is the owner of a jewelry store in Pushkar. He has been doing this business since 1996. This is his family business, and he deals in precious gemstones and silver jewelry.

Speaking about his struggles, Shanker says he was only sixteen years old when he entered the family business. Initially, there was a lot of struggle to get clients, but after years of hard work, he has developed a good network of clients .

Describing his experience during the COVID period, Shanker says that, during the pandemic, he had a good time with his family. He has numerous clients who deal with him online, so he didn’t face any problems regarding his business.

When asked whether education or experience is more important, Shanker says both are equally important. He says if a person is not educated, he will be dependent on others and can’t work on his own. So, in his opinion, education and experience go hand in hand.
