Shammi’s life has never been a smooth ride for him. After a lot of hard work and stumbling blocks, he has become a Professional Tattoo Artist in Chandigarh.

A Tattoo Artist, Shammi Kumar, runs his Tattoo studio by the name ‘Shammi Tattoos Art’ in Chandigarh. He has an overall experience of twenty years in this profession.

Shammi belongs to Chandigarh. He did his schooling from Government Model Senior Secondary School from there itself. After 10th grade, he had to drop his studies due to his father’s demise.

Talking about his childhood, Shammi says that he was an intelligent and studious kid in school. But he was brought up in a substandard environment, where education is not considered important. He was always very fond of Drawing.

When asked about his Role Models, Shammi says that he considers his father as his role model and his source of inspiration because whatever he has learned and wherever he is today, it is only because of his father.

Regarding his struggles, Shammi laments that he lost his father at the age of fifteen. Due to the irresponsibility of his elder brother, he had to take charge of his family. And so he left his studies. To feed his family, he learned the art of applying Henna at the behest of his brother-in-law. Slowly, he started earning a handsome amount doing that work.

In the meantime, someone advised him to enter into the field of Tattooing. So he enquired and researched about this field by visiting different Tattoo Studios in town. Eventually, he made his move in this field by initially working on streets and earning pennies. Then he took a personal loan on a high interest rate to start his studio in the heart of the city. His hard work and talent paid off as in no time, he progressed in this field and started another branch. But success didn’t stay too long for him as Covid-19 struck and pulled him back.

During the Covid pandemic, Shammi suffered a huge loss because of the imposition of the lockdown. Due to the closure of the business, he had to vacate his rental shop as he could not afford to pay the rent. Even though he called a few customers at home to provide his services, it was not enough. After the lockdown was lifted, he started his work at some new place, facing heavy losses.

Shammi advises the aspiring Tattoo Artists that if you are good at Drawing, you can come into this field. He tells them to take training from a good Tattoo Artist to go a long way in this profession.
