Shambhu is working as an art teacher in a private institution in Ranchi. He also teaches Madhubani painting art to other students at his home. He has been in this field for 20 years.
Shambhu lives in Ranchi. He was born in a village in Darbhanga in Bihar. Since childhood, he was very much interested in painting. His father was a government servant at Ranchi. So Shambhu’s family shifted to Ranchi when he was five years old. Shambhu completed his education in Ranchi itself.
Talking about his entry into this field, Shambhu says that once he made a painting of Ganeshji and showed it to his Principal. His school Principal appreciated him a lot and said that one day he will become a great painter. Inspired by his words, Shambhu started working in the same direction. Shambhu says that somebody advised him to take proper training in this field. He used to go 10 kms on his cycle without taking care of summer, winter or heavy rainfall to get the training.
Talking about his struggles in life, Shambhu says that he lacked the resources to pursue his passion for painting. So he started to teach Madhubani paintings to students at his home. From that tuition fee, he used to buy his painting materials.
When asked about his role models in life, Shambhu says that Uday Prakash Jha, who taught him everything about painting, is the role model in his life. He also considers his mother as his role model who used to make the best out of waste.
During Covid, his school and tuition classes were closed. Shambhu had no means of his livelihood. He started online classes. He downloaded the Star Maker app, used to sing and uploaded his songs. Initially, he was criticized for his voice. He learned how to sing and now he has 7000 followers. Shambhu thanks Covid for giving him the opportunity to develop his hidden talent.
For the new artists in this field, Shambhu advises them to be positive, and not to feel defeated and depressed. He says that there is scope in every field. He also advises that they should keep practicing by taking one aim in mind and then they will surely get success.
