Shalini was born in New Delhi. She has been living in Udaipur for the last 31 years. Her husband has a pharmaceutical business. She has two sons who are twins and are studying in college.
Shalini has an M.A. in music. She was a music and dance teacher at Maharana Mewar Public School from 1992 to 2012. She enjoyed her time as a music teacher there for twenty years. Subsequently, she joined Rotary on a mission to serve society. She founded a new Rotary Club and was its first president. She has been a Rotary member for the last seven years. Currently, she is the Assistant Governor of Zone 16 of the Rotary District. Furthermore, she is the president of the BNI Sapphire chapter. After twenty years, she switched roles and started working at Max Life Insurance as an insurance consultant.
Her late father was a commercial taxation officer. Shalini wanted to become an advocate. However, her mother was also into music. Shalini was influenced by her mother’s love for music and decided to be a music teacher.
When she joined the insurance field, it was all a challenge for her as it was a new field. But, with her determination and hard work, she grasped the nitty-gritty of the trade in a short time and, in just four months, qualified for the coveted MDRT qualification, which is the highest achievement in the field of insurance.
The COVID period was a tough time for her. Her husband and her sister-in-law got infected and were hospitalized. With their prayers and care, both of them survived. On the professional front, she had to learn how to use technology in order to work from home. In Rotary, they also had hundreds of Zoom meetings to impart training and keep the clubs active.
In her personal life, she is a devout music lover and is part of many music groups where they have singing get-togethers. Sometimes, she, her husband, and her sons all sing together and enjoy the time. She is regularly invited to judge in music contests organized by schools, colleges, and other institutions.
Shalini says that if you want to work in the insurance sector, you must be adept at understanding clients and their needs. You must be perceptive to others and be an expert in communication skills. Knowledge of the services that are provided is also a requirement, as you must be thoroughly versed to answer any and all questions a customer may have. The priorities of clients are the foremost concern for any insurance consultant. She believes that one must treat this profession as a kind of social service, as a life insurance company insures against any unforeseen mishap that may occur.

Talking about leadership, Shalini says a leader should not be a boss, but they should take everyone along. A leader must give importance to every team member. She claims Rotary has taught her many leadership qualities. As a polite and cool leader, she receives great respect as president of BNI Sapphire.
Her role models are her parents and mother-in-law. She is grateful for their guidance. Professionally, her role model is Sandeep Chaplot, who is her office head. She learned a lot from him. Also, Dr. Seema Singh, the chairman and director of Aishwarya College, is the most inspirational figure to her in the Rotary fraternity.
She misses her late father and late father-in-law. Given a chance to go back in time, she wants to spend more time with them and wants her children to receive their guidance and love.
Shalini is inspired by the young generation and tries to imbibe their knowledge of the latest technology.
On a concluding note, she says that life is an echo and everything, good or bad, is received back. One must give their best so that only the best is received back. Her life mantra is to live today, as no one knows what tomorrow has in store for us.
