Shaily Sharma is a 21 years old model who has won multiple awards on the state as well as national level. She is a journalism and mass communication graduate.

Shaily Sharma was born and brought up in Udaipur. In her family, she has her parents, her uncle, and a cousin brother who lives abroad. She completed her schooling from St. Mary’s Convent Sr. Sec. School, Udaipur. After her schooling, one of her family friends suggested she try a modelling pageant. As Shaily always wanted to do what she was good at, she decided to give it a try. She also completed her graduation in journalism and mass communication later.

During her first audition, for a pageant by the name - Miss Mewar - held in Udaipur in May 2017, she says she was very nervous to see so many other beautiful models who participated along with her. She knew the competition was tough, but then she was very self-confident and felt she was better than others and that helped her clinch the title of - Miss Mewar - in her first-ever audition. Then she went on to participate at even a bigger stage, which was the title of - Miss Teen TIARA Rajasthan 2017 - which she says was a level tougher than her first audition. She worked harder and practiced even more and that helped her win the pageant.

My success mantra in life is to accept failures and learn from them.

Shaily believes it is very important for a person to accept their failures. Shaily says, after she won two titles in a row, she went for a third one at Rajasthan level again but this time she lost in the finals. She cried a lot but her parents supported her and she understood how important it was to not give up and learn from your experiences. She knew it was not the end, she just needed to work harder. So she started working harder and participated in the national level Miss Teen TIARA India where she went to Mumbai for a 14 days pageant. She won two titles, the first was Miss India Popular and the second was the Teen TIARA India first runner up. When she won, she knew her hard-work had succeeded.

Her advice for youngsters is to be themselves and do the best they can. Shaily says if you’re entering the field of modelling, you should learn and practice how to speak, walk and express yourself. She says the last rounds in the competitions are generally question and answer rounds and if you are unable to speak well and express yourself clearly, you cannot win any beauty competitions.

If she can go back in time, she would first choose modelling and then journalism as her career. She says she has an interest in journalism only due to her likeness for modelling and therefore she would always choose modelling first.

Her childhood comprises a lot of bittersweet memories. Shaily says, as she studied in a convent school, the rules were very strict and they were not allowed to talk to each other. Being a chatterbox herself, she used to find innovative ways of having a conversation with her friends like calling them in the washroom or by passing them bits of paper. She was once even given a punishment for this and was asked to stay in the playground for the whole day, which according to her was a very fun experience.

Shaily thinks education is the way you learn how to experience things. She says if you take your education seriously, it will help you to face the situations in life. She says experience also plays a significant role in life as you learn a lot from it.

Shaily says she gradually developed leadership skills as she grew up. In her school, she was always the one who raised a question if something was wrong, as the other girls always persuaded her to speak because she could speak well. She says situations and experience helped her inculcate leadership qualities.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, Shaily says it was very tough to manage free time but she got through it. She says movies and tv-series were a big lifesaver for her in the quarantine times. She also loves to go on short trips and play indoor games with her friends. She loves to dance, sing and chat with her friends.
