Shailesh Kumar Masih, a photographer from Udaipur, has a background in finance and a B.Com. Despite facing challenges in his finance career, he now enjoys photography and believes in honesty and dedication.

Shailesh Kumar Masih is a photographer based in Udaipur.

Shailesh originally belonged to Chattisgarh. He was born in Dariba Mines, Udaipur. He completed his schooling at government schools. He has also done a B.Com. After completing his B.Com., he started his career in the finance sector. He started with HDFC Bank and later worked for the Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company. He worked in the finance sector for a few years. Later, when he met a photographer during his friend’s wedding ceremony, he took to photography as his profession and left his corporate job.

Talking about struggles in his career, Shailesh says that when he was working in the finance sector, he would work really hard. Initially, he faced challenges learning the concepts of finance and how the industry works. Later, when he switched to photography, he would often have to work overnight for shoots. He would miss his meals, and often his payment would be delayed. He would have to sacrifice his family time owing to the nature of his work. But now, after all these struggles, he is at a stage where he can do something of his own.

Shailesh considers his parents to be his role models. He says that his parents worked really hard and rose from nothing to something. They always taught him to work honestly and with full dedication.

To anybody who wants to be a photographer, Shailesh says that he would love to teach them photography, provided they are interested in it and have the zeal to work. Besides, you should work and learn the nuances of photography.

Shailesh is of the opinion that in life, education and experience are both equally important. While completing your education, if you become interested in any subject, you should pursue it and make a career in it.

Reflecting on his childhood, Shailesh says that there are so many interesting things about his childhood. He spent his childhood in Dariba Mines, Udaipur. He would play with his friends and would even miss school without telling his parents.

If he could go back in time and change something, Shailesh would want to be a cricketer, as he really liked playing cricket.

Apart from his work, Shailesh likes to spend time with his family and friends and go on long drives. He also likes to explore new places.
