Hailing from Udaipur, Shahnawaz Khan teaches music and provides aspiring musicians with opportunities to advance in their careers.
Shahnawaz Khan remembers his big break came when he participated in the popular TV show "Voice of Rajasthan" and later took the stage on X-Factor India, where he and his group made it to the finals. The dance group was mentored by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. A notable milestone in his career was being featured in a television interview, marking a significant achievement for him. Khan also mentions how destiny brought him back to India after spending over 16 years abroad. It was his mother who encouraged him to participate in the show, even though he was initially sceptical about it.
Growing up amidst financial difficulties, Shahnawaz Khan struggled to complete his studies, relying on second-hand books. Despite his efforts, he failed his exams and eventually left his studies. He recalls performing as a dancer alongside his magician grandfather and drumming on his school desk, which ignited his passion for music. He began his musical journey at nine, eventually moving to various locations to advance his singing career. Khan is grateful to his teachers who encouraged him to pursue his passion.
Shahnawaz's success mantra is, “Taking shortcuts towards success is a destructive mentality," emphasising the importance of hard work and dedication.
He cites Sonu Nigam as his role model, admiring his versatility as a singer.
His advice to young singers is to commit to hard work, remain focused on their goals, and learn only positive lessons from others. Khan further suggests that learning from multiple gurus can help them become versatile in music.
