A dedicated yoga and wellness professional, Shagun Talesra describes yoga as a holistic lifestyle rather than just physical exercise. Through her sessions, she helps individuals achieve emotional balance, mental clarity, and a stress-free life.

Shagun Talesra is a dedicated Yoga and Wellness Practitioner who conducts a variety of sessions, including group classes, online sessions, and one-on-one consultations.

She operates from two centers in Udaipur — one located in Hiran Magri Sector 4 and the other in Saheli Nagar. In addition to these, she currently leads morning group sessions at the Field Club.

Yoga Expert Shagun Talesra believes that Yoga is not merely a tool for weight loss—it is a holistic lifestyle. She emphasizes that yoga is an everyday practice aimed at transforming one's overall way of living. When people come to her, she focuses on guiding them toward a healthier lifestyle, a balanced mind, and a stress-free, joyful existence. In today’s fast-paced world, people often get easily triggered by minor issues, leading to problems such as anger, anxiety, negative emotions, and even depression.

According to Talesra, Yoga provides the tools to manage these challenges. Embracing a yogic lifestyle naturally cultivates inner calm and resilience, helping individuals remain unaffected by external disturbances. She encourages dedicating just one hour a day to yoga practice—referred to as ‘Sadhna’, which means discipline. By learning to control the breath, one can also begin to master their thoughts. Through her sessions, Talesra teaches people how to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and truly enjoy life.

In addition to her offline sessions, Shagun Talesra also conducts online sessions under the name ‘Shagun Yoga and Wellness’. Individuals can connect with her via Instagram, where she offers personalized one-on-one sessions tailored to specific needs. These sessions address a wide range of concerns, including managing health conditions such as diabetes. Shagun believes that by embracing a yogic lifestyle, one can lead a fulfilling and balanced life. While certain diseases may remain in the body, adopting the principles of yoga can help individuals live without disruption and maintain a sense of normalcy and well-being.

Reflecting on her early years, Shagun Talesra says she always aspired to become a chef, fascinated by the art of creating unique recipes from diverse ingredients—a passion she continues to nurture. However, she initially lacked guidance on how to pursue this path, especially since most people around her were doctors, engineers, or chartered accountants, with little exposure to creative fields like culinary arts. As a woman, entering the culinary industry posed additional challenges, but with determination, she convinced her parents, moved out, and pursued a degree in Hotel Management. She went on to complete her industrial training at the prestigious Taj Lake Palace.

However, during her time in the hospitality industry, Shagun realized that the demanding schedule and lack of personal time were not aligned with the life she envisioned. This led her to start a home-based restaurant named Shagun’s Homemade, which she successfully ran for two years. Over time, she felt that focusing solely on food limited her creativity and deeper interests. Being a naturally creative and wellness-oriented individual, she transitioned into the field of yoga, which she found more fulfilling. Today, while she is fully immersed in her yoga and wellness career, she still harbors plans to integrate her love for food into her future endeavors.

Speaking about her inspirations, Shagun Talesra shares that she has always had a natural inclination to help others solve their problems. People often approach her seeking guidance, and she is known for offering calm, thoughtful solutions. This innate desire to support others, combined with her interest in holistic living, gradually led her toward the field of wellness.

Eventually, she decided to pursue yoga more seriously and traveled to Mumbai for her training. There, she completed a three-month Teacher’s Training Course, living the disciplined life of an ‘ashram’. During that transformative experience, she came to the profound realization that life holds much more depth and meaning than what most people experience in their day-to-day routines. From that moment onward, she made it her mission to share this wisdom with others and guide them toward a more mindful, balanced way of living.

Yoga and Wellness Practitioner Shagun Talesra was born and raised in a joint family, where she was constantly surrounded by people, creating a warm and socially rich environment. She believes this upbringing played a crucial role in shaping her interpersonal skills and emotional resilience.

In contrast to today’s generation, who are often raised in nuclear families, she feels that earlier generations developed greater patience and tolerance simply through daily interactions with extended family members. Shagun considers herself fortunate to have grown up in a time without social media or smartphones, which allowed her to engage more deeply with the world around her and truly experience life beyond screens.

Wellness Mentor Shagun Talesra completed her schooling at St. Mary’s School, Fatehpura, Udaipur. With a strong desire to pursue Hotel management, she was advised to take the NCHMCT (National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology) entrance exam, which would allow her to gain admission to a government institute for her graduation. She secured an impressive All India Rank of 1614 and got an admission to IHM Ahmedabad, one of the top three hotel management institutes in India.

During her very first day at college, she learned about a student exchange program, and instantly set her sights on being a part of it. By her third year, she was the only student among the five shortlisted candidates who was selected for the program—a moment she attributes to the power of manifestation, a concept deeply tied to her yogic and spiritual journey.

After completing her three-year degree, Shagun followed her passion for Wellness and enrolled in a three-month Teacher’s Training Course at The Yoga Institute in Mumbai, one of the oldest and most respected yoga institutes in the world. She further enhanced her credentials by completing a certification from the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, and is now certified as a Level-3 Yoga Teacher.

When it comes to role models, Shagun Talesra says she draws deep inspiration from yogic personalities such as Sadhguru and Yogendra Ji, the founder of The Yoga Institute in Mumbai, where she completed her teacher’s training program. Although Yogendra Ji had passed away before she joined the institute, Shagun was deeply moved by his simplicity and wisdom captured in books written about his life and philosophy. These insights left a lasting impact on her.

She recalls a powerful story from her time at the institute—an incident where a faculty member gathered everyone to announce that he was entering Samadhi, a yogic state of conscious departure from the body. He had chosen his moment of death. What struck Shagun the most was how, after an hour, the entire institute returned to its normal routine, unaffected by the event. It was a profound lesson in equanimity.

For Shagun, this experience encapsulated the essence of yoga: not being disturbed by external events, including the natural cycles of birth and death. She reflects that while most people today are easily triggered by minor inconveniences, true yogis embody a state of calm detachment. This understanding continues to guide her in both her personal life and professional practice.

One quote that deeply resonates with Shagun Talesra is, 'This too shall pass.' For her, it serves as a powerful reminder that no matter how difficult or disheartening a situation may seem, it is temporary—because time, ultimately, heals everything. This perspective has helped her cultivate emotional resilience, making it easier for her to let go, move on, and continue progressing with grace and clarity.

When asked about her achievements, Shagun Talesra says she  does not place much value on materialistic awards. Instead, she finds her greatest fulfillment in the impact she has on others' lives. She has been invited to numerous places to conduct sessions, with the goal of inspiring and motivating others.

For Shagun Talesra, her biggest achievement is when even one person from her sessions takes what they’ve learned and applies it to their life, resulting in positive change. She finds immense joy in knowing that she has played a part in someone’s transformation. Many of her students express their gratitude, often telling her not to stop what she’s doing. For Shagun, this kind of feedback is her true measure of success, as it reflects the positive influence she has had on their lives.

Lifestyle Coach Shagun Talesra advises those looking to enter the wellness field to focus on learning authentic yoga. In today's world, yoga is often marketed as merely a series of postures and asanas, but she stresses that asanas make up only about 20% of what yoga truly encompasses. She encourages aspiring yogis to delve into the 80% that involves the rich philosophical teachings of yoga, which offer profound wisdom and life-changing insights.

She believes that new practitioners should not only focus on the physical aspect of yoga but also understand the emotional, spiritual, and mental impacts that different asanas can have. She emphasizes that true yoga is about holistic transformation and encourages others to give equal importance to the deeper aspects of the practice, rather than just focusing on the physical body.

Yoga Practitioner Shagun Talesra encourages everyone to embrace even 10% of the wisdom that yoga offers and observe how it transforms their life. For her, true success lies in being present in the moment and finding happiness in whatever you are doing.

She believes that youth, in particular, should cultivate a more spiritual mindset, seeking experiences beyond materialistic pursuits. By doing so, they can gain a fresh perspective on life, becoming more mindful and content. Shagun urges people to live fully in the present, enjoy life, and connect with nature. She also advocates practicing some form of discipline, as it helps create a beautiful, balanced life.

For those interested in starting yoga practice, Shagun invites them to connect with her through Instagram at Shagun Yoga and Wellness, or you can reach out to her directly at 7023506299. She will guide you on the routine best suited for your needs. Shagun also advises people to maintain balance in their lives, recommending not to  get overly excited during good times or too sad during tough times. Remember, time heals everything—so focus on the happy moments and live fully in the present.
