After joining his family business, Seemant wanted to start his own restaurant business. He has been successfully creating his own identity and aspires to expand more.

Seemant hails from Udaipur.

Seemant shares that he completed his schooling in Udaipur itself. For his college education, he went to Mumbai and earned a bachelor’s degree. He is a Marwari guy, and coming into business was natural to him. Seemant shares that in 1983, his father and his uncle started a business mining marbles in Udaipur. They were the first to import Italian marble to Udaipur.

In regard to what made him come into business, Seemant shares that when he completed his graduation from Mumbai and came back to Udaipur, his father insisted on him coming into business. Hence, upon his father’s insistence, he joined his family business of marble export. He says that when he joined his family business, he did a lot of market research and helped bring many clients to it. It ramped up the sales and, thus, the revenues.

In 2018, Seemant started his own restaurant by the name of Kailash Parbat in Udaipur and thus ventured into something of his own. In 2019, he also opened another restaurant by the same name in Jaipur. He tries to keep adding products like catering services, thali, snack boxes, and home delivery services on Swiggy and Zomato.

Talking about challenges in his business, Seemant says that he has faced a lot. From GST to demonetization to COVID, he has seen it all. But he overcame all of these and has continued to progress.

To all young entrepreneurs, Seemant advises that one should do one’s market research properly and then only delve into business; otherwise, one may have to struggle a lot to gain ground.

When asked about his role models, Seemant considers Virat Kohli his idol. He emulates the way Virat plays.

Seemant says that in his life, experience matters more than education. But he has always found ways to implement the knowledge he gained through his education.
