Being in the Rajasthan Police Services, Seema possesses a powerful and audacious personality and is an inspiration for the women and youth of the country.

Seema Hingonia is an Additional Superintendent of Police posted in the Telecommunications branch in Jaipur Police Headquarters. She looks after the administration of the wireless system. Seema cleared RAS in 2007 and joined the service in 2010. Since then, she has worked in different districts and cities of Rajasthan. Before joining the state-level Police services, Seema was a third-grade teacher and a History lecturer in the past.

Seema was born and brought up in Jaipur and completed her education there itself. She shares that professions like Teacher and Doctor are more suitable for girls in the eyes of society so that they can manage their family life as well. She adds that girls are more likely to go for Administrative Services than Police Services. Seema had always wanted to join police services owing to her upbringing and personality and has been lucky enough to get the service of her choice.

While pursuing BSc, Seema had an inclination towards Teaching which helped her in her preparation as well. When in her 12th, Seema desired to be a doctor but soon realised it was not her cup of tea. Thereafter, she completed her MA in History and also qualified UGC-NET Then Seema also did her Bachelors in Education.

Being an RPS is a big achievement for Seema since in her community only two women have made it to the list. She shares that being in the Police services gives one an opportunity to serve society and gain respect and fame in return.

Talking of the pandemic days, Seema feels satisfied to have helped people to the best of her ability. She feels that the job of Police allows one to help society better than any other service.

Seema advises the youth to consciously and wisely choose the subject of their choice in the 11th standard since it plays an important role in giving their career the right direction.  Seems says that it is very important to make your career decision after 10th class itself to avoid wasting time and being unemployed and depressed later.

For those who want to join government services, Seema shares that one should be proactive and start their preparation while in graduation. She says that it is very important to develop your learning and writing skills along with a proper schedule and a fixed number of study hours. She adds that consistency and revision plays a crucial role in your preparation. Seema also advises the aspirants to read newspapers daily to update themselves and form a link between the history, present and future events. She feels that studying with discussion is a better strategy than studying in isolation.

Seema also suggests the aspirants to work on their overall personality and speaking skills which would help them in the interview round and further in the services.

Seema considers Dr BR Ambdekar as her role model who always valued education more than anything else. She also draws inspiration from her father who himself is in the services and who encouraged Seema to become an administrator. She got equally motivated to join police services inspired by Kiran Bedi. Seema’s aim is to contribute to the development of society and encourage the youth and women of the country in every aspect.

Seema runs a program called ‘Save Youth, Save Nation’ focused on providing information to the youth about Law and how to keep themselves safe. She has also written a book on the subject.

In her leisure time, Seema teaches the youth about the nitty-gritty of Law and visits schools to make students aware of subjects that matter at their age. She is also involved in a program called ‘Aawaz’ which focuses on action against women related crime and empowerment of women. She also indulges in book reading and writing in her free time.

To wind up, Seema says that one should be happy in whatever they have achieved in life so far and keep trying without getting depressed and frustrated.
