A dedicated lecturer, Savitri strives to provide every student at her institute with the best possible social and academic environment.

Savitri Kunwar Rao is a lecturer at Vidya Bhawan Rural Institute (VBRI), Udaipur. She has been working with the Vidya Bhawan Group for the past ten years.

Savitri says she chose to become a teacher when she was in the ninth grade because she wanted to follow in the footsteps of her teacher father. She holds an MA in English Literature and a master's degree in education.

Savitri describes her childhood, saying that she was the youngest of her siblings. Her father and brothers pampered her with love. She remembers how challenging it was for her father to take care of their large family of eight, having five sons and a daughter—while he was the only one earning.

Sharing about her struggles, Savitri says that during the pandemic, when she was suddenly transferred from a B.Ed. college to a degree college, it was a difficult change to accept. However, she was able to manage this difficult change and used her teaching skills to help the new degree students understand the fundamentals.

Speaking about her COVID experience, Savitri says, although it was unfortunate to go through such a difficult time for the world, people, she feels, became more aware of their health as a result of the pandemic.

When asked about her role models, Savitri says that she looks up to her brother, a successful IIT graduate, as one of her role models. She also gets her inspiration from her coworker, Dr. Saba Khan, who is always upbeat and never gives up hope no matter what.

Savitri says if she gets the Time Machine, she will definitely want her two big brothers, whom she lost a few years ago, to live. She says she misses them a lot and that she will always remember their affection for her and the times she shared with them.

In her spare time, Savitri enjoys traveling, going for walks, cycling, and watching television.

Savitri suggests the young people to become more compassionate toward one another and help one another as life is very unpredictable.

"Just because today is a bad day doesn’t mean tomorrow won’t be the best day of your life" is the quote that most motivates Savitri.
