Tough times are part and parcel of life.
Tough times are part and parcel of life.
Saurabh Badala is the director of Badala Classes, a renowned coaching institute in Udaipur. He has been in the teaching profession for the last ten years. Saurabh’s father and uncle are the founders of Badala Classes, and he joined it with his brothers, Nishant Badala and Rahul Badala, in July 2017. He is a Cost and Works Accountant and a qualified Chartered Accountant. His core subject is taxation, but he also teaches cost accounting and financial management. Through his institute, he aims to provide a good education.
Saurabh did his schooling at Central Academy. He was not a very bright student, as he says, and scored average in the class. He switched from science to commerce because he had no interest in the field. Saurabh cleared CA, CS, and other exams on the first attempt since he found his area of interest: commerce! He is an optimistic being who believes in learning from the bad times.
Talking about his struggles, Saurabh says that during his studies, he also did a job for just 2500 rupees, where he learned the core principles of work and the value of money, time, and education.
Due to the sudden lockdown during COVID, it was tough for everyone, including him, to pursue teaching, but with the support and direction of his brother, Rahul Badala, he overcame the tough times. In contrast, he spent great family time with his daughter.
As a teacher, he feels that one needs to understand what the students want, their problems, and their mindset. A teacher should keep the students motivated at all times.
Education and experience are interconnected, in his view.
Saurabh has a few role models from every stage of his life. First, his father, for his struggles and upbringing. Second, Rahul Badala, for his commitment. Third, his office senior at his first job, and lastly, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He feels greatly inspired by these four men.
Saurabh says that he was not a born leader and has learned the skills with time. He believes that no one is perfect, as perfection is achieved through experience.
If given a time machine, he would travel back and give himself more time to perfect his skills and dedication. Moreover, he would also like to relive his childhood.
Saurabh’s favorite free time activities are playing chess, traveling, and learning about the stock market.
