Satyam Mishra hails from Bhagalpur, Bihar. He is an Engineer turned Teacher who has been teaching for the past eight years. He is a partner at Teach For All- a central organization and network of teachers. Besides, he also teaches students of Armenia and Slovakia remotely.
Talking about his childhood, Satyam says that he was born and raised in the beautiful city of Bhagalpur in Bihar. He completed his school education at his paternal place itself. Then he completed a B.Tech in Information Technology from Manipal Institute of Technology, Karnataka.
Satyam shares that his great grandfather had topped his tenth board examinations. Despite being offered many administrative posts by the British Raj, his grandfather chose to become a teacher and a freedom fighter. And this motivated Satyam to take to teaching after completing his Engineering degree. He says that being a teacher is well respected in his community and family alike.
Satyam considers Mountain Man- Dashrath Manjhi as his role model and source of inspiration. Besides, he also considers his great grandfather, who was a freedom fighter, as his role model.
For Satyam, Success is about being able to follow his passion.
Satyam says that instead of following the herd mentality, one should endeavor to follow their passion. He says that if one takes the road more often traveled for the sake of what people will say, one may end up failing.
Satyam says that before the British came to India, it contributed around twenty-four percent to the World’s GDP. But, he laments, that by the time the British left the country, India’s contribution to the World’s GDP reduced to a meager one percent. However, he is optimistic that soon India will be able to reclaim its position as the World Guru provided we all work in harmony and stay united.
In his spare time, Satyam likes to interact with people and travel to places.
