Arise, awake, and stop not until you have achieved your goal.
Satya Prakash Mundra is an Educationist by profession and an Engineer and MBA by education.
Born and raised in Udaipur, Satya Prakash is quite content with the kind of upbringing and formal education he received growing up. After completing his school education in Udaipur, he went to Kota and did his engineering at Engineering College, Kota.
Satya Prakash shares the reason behind his coming into academia despite being an engineer. He says that engineers have a technical bent of mind and they can analyze anything and everything with precision. And education being a vast field in itself needs people who can disrupt it for the better and engineers seem apt for this.
His father founded a school in Udaipur in 1965. Satya Prakash took the school to newer heights after he joined the school.
Talking about his professional career, he says that after completing his engineering, he did an MBA. Then he worked for about three years in the corporate sector. He worked in the healthcare industry in Ahmedabad as a Project Manager. Thereafter, taking inspiration from the Director of the company he worked at, Satya Prakash took a plunge to do something of his own and quit his job.
Discussing the Covid pandemic, he says that it was an unprecedented thing. He personally enjoyed his time during the pandemic. He says that online education was never heard of until the pandemic. He says that within a month he revamped the whole way of teaching at the school and shifted it to the online mode by leveraging technologies. He also started recording videos of the lectures taught at the school. It was an opportunity in disguise for him.
Satya Prakash highlights that the education system of the country is still continuing in the conventional way but many engineers are coming into the education sector with an aim to disrupt it for the better. Many corporate professionals are also joining the education sector to give something back to society. And within the next few years, its effect will show on the ground, he believes.
He thinks that both education and experience have their own importance in life. They both are unlimited to explore. But what’s more important is to have your goal in life clear and defined to be able to leverage your experience and education. Besides, he says that the current generation knows about many things owing to the internet but they need to have real-life experiences to sustain themselves in the longer run.
He doesn’t consider any one person as his role model. His friends, professors, and even a child from whom he can learn are his role models.
If he could go back in time then he would want to relive his childhood and relive the moments and time spent with his friends.
In his spare time, he likes to read historical, religious, and biographical books. Besides, he also likes to spend time with his friends and visit places.
