Saroj Patel runs a self-funded foundation called ”Gramin Madad Kashi Foundation”. Along with this, she has also been running her company called “Agrimantra Enterprises” which deals in agricultural products and machinery.
Saroj was born and brought up in Madhya Pradesh. She did her schooling from M.P. itself. Later she did her post-graduation from Vikram University. Growing up, she was very close to her grandmother, and thus she has also used her name (Kashi) in her foundation. She says she had been inclined towards social work since her childhood.
In 2012, Saroj contributed in setting up the first “Divya Mother Milk Bank” of North India in Rajasthan. Disgusted and infuriated by growing crimes of sexual violence, she later went on to conduct sexual violence awareness campaigns in society. She says that ignoring the seemingly inconsequential things like acts of stalking and being followed by miscreants is one the biggest reasons for the growth of these activities. She also initiated a program called “Jobs for Her” to combat domestic violence, as she firmly believes that financial independence helps women gain confidence.
Saroj had started the ”Gramin Madad Kashi Foundation'' in 2012, which is a self-funded foundation focusing primarily on stopping sexual abuse of everyone, including men, women and children. Another front of her foundation focuses on solving the problems related to agriculture and helping farmers with proper scientific knowledge of farming.
Talking about her company “Agrimantra Enterprises”, she says that it deals in agricultural products, mainly organic products. She says that her company has established the first terrace kitchen garden in Udaipur where people can grow organic vegetables on their own, leading to a healthy lifestyle.
Talking about COVID, Saroj says many people suffered due to the pandemic. Recognizing problems in the system, Saroj started to write and raise voice for the poor and the needy people. She believed in the power of social media and used it as a tool to raise awareness through writing and uploading videos, slowly but surely many people joined her initiative and made it helpful.
One thing that bothers Saroj is the growing influence of social media and mobile phones among the youth and their neglect of Indian culture and traditions. And working in this very direction, she is planning to start a “Gurukul” very soon to guide youngsters to preserve and follow the rich culture of our nation.
When asked about her role models, Saroj says she considers herself to be her role model. She says that she has faced some really tough times back in the day and overcame them alone and this is why she believes strongly in herself.
Saroj wants to convey a message to the youth that they should be more considerate towards their surroundings and locality and focus on gaining the real experience of life. She also says that youth should recognize the struggle and sacrifice of their parents to take inspiration from them and prove themselves useful to society.
About her achievements, Saroj says that her most valuable achievement is people’s love and respect in society.
