Sarla has been working for the tribal women of Rajasthan her whole life. Imparting her creativity to the tribal women, she taught them embroidery and other crafts, and thus enabled them to earn their livelihoods.

Sarla Moondra has been working for the Rajasthan Vanvasi Kalyan Parishad - an NGO that works for the tribal people of Rajasthan, for the past thirty-five years.

Sarla hails from Udaipur. She did a Masters in Painting in 1991. She received a gold medal in her masters.

Sarla shares that she has been working for the tribes dwelling in the tribal belt of Rajasthan for the past thirty-five years. During this span of time, she has worked on education, medication, and awareness of the tribal people. Besides this, with an aim to empower the tribal women and make them independent, she pioneered the founding of Kamli Tribes under the aegis of the NGO that she works for. At Kamli Tribes, tribal women are taught embroidery to enable them to earn their livelihoods.

Sarla thinks that handmade products have a soul to them which machine-made products lack. She appeals to people to buy handmade products to promote the craftsmen that make them.
