Santosh Paliwal is a Science teacher dealing with primary section students at Alok School for a decade now. Born in Nathdwara, she completed her Bachelor in Science. Upon getting married, she spent time upbringing her children and was at home for ten years. Thereafter, her mother-in-law pushed her to utilize her education after which she decided to do a Bachelor in Education and get into the teaching profession.
Talking about her childhood, she says that it was a fun time with no burden of studies as it is with today’s students. Santosh feels that these days children are more engrossed in their gadgets as a result of which their physical activity gets compromised.
Discussing COVID, Santosh shares that it was a bad phase for her since she lost her father-in-law. Her husband also contracted the virus but luckily recovered. On the professional front, she missed being with her students and was keen to learn how the online setup works and feels that the sessions went well.
For aspiring teachers, Santosh says that one needs to be patient and try to understand students’ mindsets while looking into their problems. She says that teachers should treat all students equally.
Santosh considers her parents, who are always willing to help people, as her role models.
In her leisure time, she likes to listen to music and read books. Her favourite song is ‘Zindagi ka Safar.’
If she could time travel, she would not have wasted her ten years sitting at home after marriage and would have joined the teaching profession without wasting any time.
Santosh feels both education and experience are important as experience adds to your education.
Talking about leadership, Santosh shares that as a teacher one needs to win the hearts of their students. She feels one learns leadership traits with time.
Santosh is inspired by one of her colleagues at school for his time management skills and contributing to both school and society irrespective of having a busy schedule. Santosh gives credit to her in-laws and husband to have motivated her and boosted her confidence.
