The owner of Jagdish Mishtan Bhandar, Sanjay, has taken his family's sweets and snacks business to new heights. With a focus on quality and hard work, they have expanded from one shop to four, offering a variety of sweets and also catering to health-conscious customers.

Sanjay Bajaj is the owner of the iconic JMB (Jagdish Misthan Bhandar), famous for its sweets and snacks in Udaipur city. He is the fourth generation of his family to take care of this business. His grandfather opened the shop back in 1964, and generation after generation of his family has taken the business to new heights.

In the beginning, Sanjay’s grandfather set up one shop, but now they have expanded to four shops in different areas of the city. Driven by the quality they offer, the people of the city have always thronged to their shops.

Sanjay believes that whichever business you are in, you have to work very hard to establish your goodwill and leave a lasting impression in the hearts of your customers. He recalls that initially, it was difficult to make the business a hit. But they all toiled hard and gradually carved a niche for themselves in the sweets business in the city.

Sanjav says that he has a joint family, and everyone helps in the business in their own way. To become successful in the business, he has worked hard and aims to make his chain a hit in the entire country.

Sanjay says that he is honest with his customers in terms of quality, taste, and weight and advises aspiring entrepreneurs to be honest with their customers too. He says that earlier they were only manufacturing and retailing Indian sweets, but they have now started to import chocolates and dry fruits. Earlier, his shop used to offer around 15 to 20 different varieties of sweets, but today it offers more than 100 different options to its customers. They are also focusing on health-conscious customers and offering sugar-free sweets.

Sanjay says that although the retail nature of his business keeps him busy, he and his family like to travel at least once a year. They travel to various destinations in India. They love their tours, as it gives them an opportunity to spend time together.

Sanjay is of the opinion that everything in a successful business should be aimed at making the customer happy.

Sanjay loves what he does, as it gives him tremendous joy. He is so happy with his life that he says that even if he gets another shot at life, he does not want to go back and change anything.
