Sandhya has been in the teaching profession for the last twenty years. She thinks teachers should place a greater emphasis on their pupils' personal development and communicate the greatest knowledge possible to them.

Sandhya Thakur is an English teacher at Shishu Bharti Senior Secondary School.

Sandhya hails from Udaipur. She has completed her MA and B.Ed. degrees. She used to teach at Mahaveer Vidya Mandir prior to joining this school. She also looks after the extracurricular activities at the school. Additionally, she also hosts school programs. She has always given 100 percent results in English in the board exams. She has received several awards for her teaching.

As physical teaching was prohibited during the COVID-19 period, Sandhya couldn't enjoy the company of her class. During the pandemic, she had to teach online and learn a lot about essential IT expertise; therefore, she gained a significant amount of new skills. On a personal note, she found solace in spending more time with her family. Her daughter is a software engineer who resides away from home in Bangalore. She stayed for a year at home during the pandemic, and she was delighted to spend time with her daughter after a long time.

For anyone wishing to join the profession, Sandhya advises that one must have confidence in their knowledge, be presentable to students, and patiently deal with children. Every child is distinct, she believes, and every child is unique, demanding a unique understanding.

Sandhya believes that education assists in the acquisition of knowledge and the building of a stable foundation, but experience helps in the development of knowledge beyond the realm of education. She holds educators who are sympathetic to children from low-income families in high regard and believes that education is a universal right.

When asked about her thoughts on leadership, Sandhya says that educators should focus more on the growth of their students and that leadership should not be a separate trait for them. One must have friendly relations with junior teachers in the profession and be benevolent to them.

Sandhya’s role model is her father. Her father was an army man. She had immense respect for him, as he was a strictly disciplined individual. She has four sisters, and her eldest sister is the principal at Mahavir Vidya Mandir, who is still very active and knowledgeable even at the age of 65. She is motivated by her eldest sister and wishes to become a renowned educator just like her one day.

In her free time, Sandhya likes listening to music.
