Sandhya is a dedicated educator who believes in the power of great work. She emphasizes holistic development and practical education for her students. Sandhya's passion and commitment inspire those around her to strive for excellence.

Sandhya Sawlani is a coordinator at Curious Kids School.

Sandhya is the school's administrator, responsible for enforcing rules and regulations for students. She has been with Curious Kids for 15 years, taking a five-year break to get married and have a son. She is now back in her role.

Recalling her childhood, Sandhya says she was born in Udaipur, and the best memories of her childhood were playing with her siblings. Being from a joint family, she had 20 brothers and sisters.

Talking about challenges, Sandhya says it was hard for her to get permission to start a job; however, she convinced her parents and grandparents. Her teacher was her support during this tough period in her life. In addition to motivating her, she also convinced her parents on her behalf. Every difficulty in her life became an easier challenge with her teacher’s support. Eventually, her parents realized the importance of the professional caliber that women possess and supported her in her decision to become an educator.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sandhya says they had to shift to online teaching, which was very difficult. They shifted to video recordings that would be shared on social media platforms for children to view and study from instead of living classes. Some challenges were also faced in video making, but it drastically reduced the communication gap between teachers and students, according to her. On a personal note, the pandemic was disastrous for her. Her husband was also infected with the deadly disease, but he fought the disease and recovered eventually, by God’s grace.

Advising aspiring teachers, Sandhya says one should focus on the holistic development of their students rather than just teaching them from textbooks. Teachers should consider the needs of their students and provide practical education while addressing their weaknesses. She believes that a teacher is no less than a mother figure who shapes the future of the country.

In her free time, Sandhya likes listening to music. She is also a practitioner of Kathak dance. Besides, she likes to do mischief with her kid.

When one is properly educated, only then can one take the responsibility to educate others, which is what she believes. Hence, in her belief, education is very important in the academic profession. However, as one gains experience through working years in the education field, one becomes adept at solving students' needs in and beyond academics. Hence, experienced people are required in higher managerial posts.

Sharing her opinion on education and experience, Sandhya says that one can only take on the responsibility of educating others when they are properly educated themselves. As such, she believes that education is very important in the academic profession. However, she also believes that as one gains experience in the education field over the years, they become more adept at solving students' needs both academically and beyond. Therefore, she believes that experienced people are required for higher managerial positions.

If she could travel back in time, Sandhya would want to say sorry to her grandmother because she had once shouted at her during childhood. She also wants to relive the days after her baby was born. She feels that hope is the swing of life.
