A trained Indian Classical Dancer, Sandhya believes that Discipline, Determination and Dedication are three main ingredients to become successful in any field.

Sandhya Damle is a trained Bharatanatyam Dancer based in Mumbai. She has been teaching Bharatanatyam for the past twenty seven years.

Sandhya hails from Mumbai. She completed her Masters in Bharatanatyam from Mumbai University. She had been interested in learning Bharatanatyam since childhood. After completing her 10th std, she joined Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya in Mumbai where she did her Bachelors and then Masters in Bharatanatyam.

Sandhya considers her Dance Guru as her biggest role model and inspiration.

Sandhya believes that it’s paramount to follow your passion to be able to live a happy and fulfilling life.

Whenever she talks about her childhood, Sandhya is always reminded of the first prize that she received in a dance competition when she was just four years old.

Besides Dancing, Sandhya loves Singing and Acting. And whenever she gets time, she puts in her best effort to follow her passions.

To aspiring dancers, Sandhya advises them to be disciplined, determined and dedicated to become a successful dancer.

Sandhya shares that she underwent four major abdominal surgeries and she was advised not to continue dancing. However, with her will and determination, she overcame her illness and also continued Dancing.

Talking about Covid, she says that due to the pandemic all theaters and other places were shut and because of that she could not teach and perform Dance. However, to keep herself engaged in some artistic activity, she would enact the poems written and recited by one of her friends and post her performances on Social Media. Besides, she also conducted online Bharatanatyam classes.
