Dr. Sameer Kumar Vyas serves as a Lecturer in the History Department at Vidya Bhawan Rural Institute, Udaipur.
Besides teaching his subject, he extends personal guidance to his students and supports those facing financial constraints. He also aids academically adept students in achieving high scores and addresses any uncertainties they encounter.
Born in Mumbai, Dr. Sameer moved to Banswara, Rajasthan, where he spent much of his childhood among the tribal communities. His parents, both employed in the government sector, instilled in him a strong work ethic and a sense of community. He completed his early education in the village of Ghatol and continued his schooling in his native village. He later graduated from the Government College of Banswara. Despite being a talented hockey and cricket player, he had to forgo pursuing sports professionally due to family responsibilities. He even played hockey at the state level in Ganganagar.
After completing his education, Dr. Sameer taught at a local school for five years. Following his marriage, at his wife’s suggestion, he joined the Vidya Bhawan Rural Institute in 2013, which marked a turning point in his career. He, along with his wife and daughter, resides in the quarter provided by the institute. His wife also secured a job after clearing a long-standing exam. He also focused on his academic career and has authored fifteen books, crediting Vidya Bhawan for their support and encouragement.
Speaking of role models, Dr. Sameer says he considers his parents as his initial role models, alongside Hon. PM Narendra Modi, whose dynamic leadership inspires him to strive harder.
Reflecting on his COVID experience, Dr. Sameer describes it as a challenging period for all. While the first wave had a lesser impact, the second wave affected both him and his wife when they contracted the disease. Despite this, they persevered through mutual cooperation and the well wishes of loved ones. He credits the support from the Vidya Bhawan Institute for aiding in their smooth recovery.
Given the opportunity to travel back in time with a time machine, Dr. Sameer wishes to revisit his childhood days when he indulged in carefree cricket matches with friends, devoid of worries about the future, cherishing those blissful moments.
During his leisure time, he enjoys gardening and quality moments with his family. Cricket is a cherished hobby for him, and he also dedicates time to his writing pursuits.
Dr. Sameer lives on the principles of hard work, honesty, and mutual cooperation. He also makes efforts to deliver additional knowledge to his students.
In his advice to the youth, Dr. Sameer emphasises the importance of setting life goals and pursuing them with unwavering dedication. He advocates wise utilisation of technology and draws inspiration from the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, encouraging individuals to focus on their actions without being attached to the outcomes.
