Besides being a student, Saloni Sharma is also a Tattoo Artist and manages a well known studio named ‘Tattoo Baba’ in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It was started by her parents twelve years back and six years ago, she stepped into this field. She learned this art from her father for a year-and-a-half and now she has become a good tattoo artist having expertise in Portrait Tattooing. Currently, they have three studios in Jaipur and are planning to open their branches in Goa and Pune as well.
Saloni belongs to Jaipur, Rajasthan. She did all her studies from there itself. Since childhood, she was not much interested in studies because of her inclination towards the creative field, due to which she gave open exams after 10th grade just to get the degree. At present, she is pursuing an MA in Economics.
Saloni considers her parents as her role models because from them she learned this art and she thinks that they are different from all the other parents because they trust her a lot and support her in everything she does.
Talking about struggles, Saloni says that when in the early days they only had a single studio, then people did not consider this work to be good and respectful. People used to think of it as only tattooing work, but gradually this work started getting attention and was considered as a professional art. It is quite a trend in the youth and now even the elders have started showing interest in getting tattoos done on their bodies. And in this way, their work progressed and reached a good position.
When asked about her achievements, Saloni says that in 2018, her studio was awarded the ‘Best Tattoo Studio in India’. In this, they were appreciated for their Cleanliness, Hygiene and Perfect Tattooing Art.
Saloni likes to watch movies and web series in her spare time, but in her studio only as she doesn’t like to leave her studio. Apart from this, she likes to read fictional books and go out in the early morning hours.
Saloni says that to come into this line, you should be passionate about it. Becoming a tattoo artist is not an easy task as it takes a lot of hard work and determination. She advises newcomers to come with a firm mind and sincerity and try not to go towards any intoxicant stuff to show yourself as a cool person.
