Determined to do something for farmers, Sahiram quit his government job and started his own food company. He faced various challenges, but his dedication towards his dream paid off.

Sahiram Godara is the director of Thar Foods. He came from an agricultural family.

Sahiram hails from Bikaner. He comes from an agricultural family. As his family used to face challenges in farming,  they advised him to become a government servant. However, discouraged by his average performance in school, and seeing the tough competition for jobs,  he wanted to help his father in agriculture. But, his father convinced him to study further. After his graduation as a BSc, he was not able to get any offer of employment. Finally, he was selected as a government teacher, but he still wanted to do something for farmers.

Sahiram’s business journey started with the idea of helping farmers and providing employment to others. He decided to go with mushroom cultivation. He faced  issues but was able to create a suitable environment required for plantations and got success in mushroom cultivation.

Following his success in mushroom cultivation, Sahiram decided to start his own business to provide food and employment to the people. He also took advantage of digital technology in order to increase his business growth.

Recounting his challenges, Sahiram says he had to face different kinds of issues in the business. One of the major issues was how to promote the product along with managing the supply. He managed to find a way and solve all the issues in order to achieve his dream. He also had to bear a major loss due to a fire in the production unit.

Guiding the youth, Sahiram says he believes that every path is filled with problems and you need to face the challenges to achieve your goal. He believes that a person's dedication should be greater than the barriers.
